Reviewed Bombed by angry people before the game came out? I dont have a horse in this race. I never played the first Last of Us and I havent played this game either. I probably need to experience the first Last of Us since it is so critically acclaimed but thats besides the point.

Are lots of people that have played the game actually not like it or is it just getting review bombed by people who never played the game?

and nowadays, if people believe that something is "SJW", "woke", progressive, etc, it's likely going to get review bombed.

On the one hand, it probably isn't being played. On the other, little I saw in the marketing for it said this is a game that would appeal to people not looking to be a bit snobbish by playing it, so it's probably just cutting out the middle man.

I would bet people just read the spoilers and didnt like the direction. The game is fantastic.

Or they played it and also didnt like the direction. Doesn't matter. It has a different taste on some of the elements in it from the first one and the revenge story isnt a classic revenge story. I say good. It didn't need to be.

It's a story driven game, once the leaks of the story were out that was it. I never played the first game but all I heard was that it's a decent movie to play.

I know you werent asking me but...wanted to chime in.

Depends on what they say really. In this game's context, the accounts that attack the fact that Ellie has a girlfriend or mad that Joel isnt the protagonist in this one, no I don't take those accounts seriously. But many others have valid arguments in regards to the revenge plot and that's their opinion. Although them just marking the game as a 0/10 because of that is just silly.

IF they're saying "I haven't played it because it looks bad" then that's valid. They are petening to have played it then that's bad.

But going "All the people who claim to dislike it ALL just haven't played it, are lying and would love it if they did!" is cult level madness.

It's just getting review-bombed.

You can have intelligent debate on whether you like a couple key plot developments or not, but the fact that it was immediately at a 3.5/10 upon release tells you it's mostly getting dumped on with 0/10s from toxic nerds. It happens with basically every single popular release these days where headcanons are disproven, and it's really obnoxious.

I'm playing through it right now and thus far it's at least like a 9/10 for me. There's a lot of REALLY impressive stuff here.

The story of TLOU2 is garbage, the gameplay is more of the same and the characters are unlikeable and forgettable.

like with SkillUp, I felt that even if I didn't agree with all of his points, from my experience, he at least made me look at the game more critically than I might have otherwise.

I don't even think people need to analyze something, and give reasons why they don't like something; sometimes things just don't resonate with you.

I don't know. People can be very shallow about hings they like, so I don't know if playing it is a full pre-requeste for a valid opinion. This game in particular has had rabid fans that would go "pretty graphics + "serious" storyline + non-sexualized female leads = 10/10 even if it crashed my playstation."

It's a bit of a joke, though I did see it happen in the past. 8/10, ignore that if you use a stat improvement system the PS3 crashes and needed to rebuild the database because they didn't translate it.
