Popular post on r/fitness today was a guy going from bordeline obese in his late 30s to getting absolutely shredded in his late 40s. So no, I don't think it's ever too late to "turn your life around." Mostly because life is what you make of it. A lot happiness is predicated on your outlook.

I went back to school in my late 20s, got a degree around 32-ish, and finally got my shit together.

It could take until you're 40 until you've actually got your shit together which sucks, but it doesn't suck nearly as much as being 40 and still not having your shit together.

I was NEET for over 10 years. I thought I was going to die in 2017 when I was 29 and committed myself to turning it around. Started losing weight and have lost 140lbs. Started my own business, which isn't nearly as impressive as it sounds but it is steady work (when we're not in a pandemic) and provides me money. I moved out of my mom's house, though I now live with my brother who is pretty much incapable of living on his own (disabled veteran).

I still haven't gotten my driver's license but I am comfortable driving, though I don't go farther out than a few miles. I feel like my anxiety is under control enough to be able to pass the test, though I've never even tried to take it so who knows.

I was still drinking while getting all of this rolling but stopped because I almost killed myself the last time I got drunk. I'm now almost one year sober. My health, physically and mentally, is better than at any point in my life.

I won't say that since I could do it, anyone can, because I got a ton of lucky breaks that I know not everyone can get but I never imagined my life turning out like this. It doesn't hurt to try.

I was on autopilot in the army for 7 years into my late 20s until I realized I was dead inside there never grew as a adult or a man and had to gtfo. Got a trade and am doing much better in life on my own.

Oddly enough I took a huge risk post army by throwing myself to the wolf's to learn a trade rather then return home, live under my parents roof and attempt collage but likely fail honestly. Grew up far more becuase of it then I did throughout my entire life up to then.

You don't have control over who likes you, who wants to date you, who cares about anything you have to say, who cares about the content your create, etc. When I look at someone who's harmless and generally doesn't have that kind of support I don't think it's their fault

I hope so.
I was recently called a loser by my gf's parents because I don't have a plan.

I'm not in a a terrible position, but I'm 30, only make 15/hr at a stable job, and have roommates.
No savings and no degree.

It's true, I don't have a plan and I'm growing more and more concerned.

Anyone who is making a plan in 2020 that they think is realistic is probably kidding themselves. But you should have some general idea of what you'd like to work towards, and you can spin that into a narrative for folks you meet.

It's never too late. Also, 30 is pretty young.

Yes. I was fat as fuck over 400 lbs into my 30s. I couldn't sleep on my left side, because my blood pressure was so high that I could hear it if I lay on that side. I started changing my diet, eating less fat, eating less overall, and started moving more. Then I got a job where I'm active for 8 hours a day.
