Again, the NEWS side was behind the ouster of the opinion side and was part of a larger, overt directional shift. And this LITERALLY just happened so you have no excuses. You can't argue that, "Oh, well, they may have offered a discount on an attack advertisement that runs contrary to their stated policy (even before factoring in the discount), but that was years ago!" because this is RIGHT now. However, the NYT has a very long history of bias at every level and the decisions within each section lay bare the biases of the paper as a whole. None of which is getting into the NYT's history of editorial misconduct, where a number of journalists had been making shit up for years before finally getting caught so badly that the paper had no choice but to fire him (Jayson Blair being one example).
