No. I made sure to put my foot down and lay out some conditions of my return:

No deciding you want kids a year from now and breaking up with me

And I told her I wasn't going to come back if she was just lonely. Not a charity case thing.

I miss being single most when an attractive girl is obviously feeling me. But I do understand the dilemma. Honeymoon phase is well over in my relationship as well and its basically a question now of whether were invested enough for the rest of our lives. Theres a weird finality to that, and breaking up effectively means: I really like and appreciate this person, but I think I could feel that more with someone else.

My only complaints were the cats and she's kind of needy. I won't get into it but there were also some sexual things she refused to do that I couldn't live without. We're good otherwise. And I love her compassion, her smile, the way she smells, looks at me. The little notes she leaves me before work, that she remembers things like what kind of pens I use when I draw.

I see. Sounds like you're just struggling with where you place your importance and how it effects the rest of your life. Which is pretty normal. Hope you figure it out

Yeah, I'll be the first to admit I have more to work on than she does. My only real complaint and reason for being so angry about the quasi-break up was we discussed the kids thing thoroughly and had reached a compromise like a year ago. Then she goes to her dad's birthday party and decides that, due to family pressure she NEEDS to start a family. If she was struggling that much we could have saved ourselves a year and potentially less heart ache.

Men need to stop making the mistake that a woman's decision about kids at 20 is gonna be the same at 25-30. Women will change their mind and have the right too. Of course, doing it because your family is pressuring you is a beyond stupid reason, but still. Time and time again men are befuddled that a woman will change her mind about having kids and my reaction is always ...uh yes, of course, who the fuck is 100% certain of what they want in their early 20s?

It's shitty because it's such a serious thing that disrupts relationships but telling a girl to comment to never having babies is also a shitty thing, no matter how sure she thought she was.

And now you're probably at a place where you're both holding out for the other to change their mind, which will cause tension in every aspect of the relationship.
