ing me. He tells them he tells them they shouldnt be called doctors for their doctorates unless hes also called master for his university of Phoenix online MBA.

I cant imagine how frustrating it is to them. He called me and he was having issues figure out if he pays 3% interest, whats that on a new $40,000 car they bought last week. Obviously this can be a little bit more complex than a straight percent figuring out daily interest rates, dates paid etc., but he was just wondering 3% on a number that was about $40,000. I get a call or two a year about how to take a percent, Which number goes on top.

While my immediate response is to laugh at the absurdity of it, I do recognize, and others should too, that there are different kinds of intelligence, and that having reasonably competent mathematical ability doesn't necessarily equate to being able to skillfully direct manpower for maximum efficiency and effect.

Then again, in my experience, manager is often a position given to people who aren't good enough to be involved in the work directly, so the criticism and dissatisfaction could be completely deserved.

Basically my experience with managers. My current boss (clinic-work) has only been in a management role for two years now and when I got here a year ago seemed to have no clinical skills.

I also think calling people "doctor" for a PhD is typically unnecessary posturing
