He could literally end the protests if he reformed police departments. What happened to "my supporters would support me if I shot someone"? So you can only gain supporters if you address police brutality.

Oh is that all? The literal thousands of local police establishments run by local governments just need the president of the entire country to snap his fingers and that'll instantly fix ingrained systemic issues and end the protests. Overnight.

Sure he can. Leadership. Tell your millions of supporters the exact kind of reform you want. Executive order, you can do whatever you want until the supreme court knocks you down. Who's going to do that? The Democrats?

He only has to give people a concrete roadmap to addressing police brutality, and there are no more protests, we all go back to normal old quarantine.

Again we're talking about thousands of local departments run by thousands of different local governments and funded by those local provinces. The president doesn't exactly have oversight over them and can exercise very little actual change. Even if he said something like "all officers must wear cameras that must function at all times," you're going to have a large majority that don't have the means to enact such a thing. Any kind of federal funding would have to come through Congress. His coronavirus roadmap was an ever-changing disaster because he couldn't control it or the states, a roadmap here would be empty platitude at best or a political blemish at worst.

You're right he should come out and say something, anything. But I do genuinely wonder if the people protesting would even want to hear it. We already have lots of people making statements and despite their good intention, some of them are getting railroaded for it. The court of public opinion is fickle, and there's a very real chance anything he says will do more harm than good. I kind of imagine all his advisors telling him exactly that, because you know he wants to be on Twitter during all this!

You forgot his favorite solution of all:
Go even deeper into debt to hand out money to the rich

Granted, it's every Republican's favorite/only solution for everything, not uniquely Trump. The "Debt King" certainly coaxed them into throwing away any remaining pretense that they gave a damn about a balanced budget, though.

Does that mean we are all illegal aliens, and the only place America still exists is the White House grounds? Or is he making a new County called Trumptopia.
