You just let the police cars pass by and wait for the signal to change.

"Aren't we going to help?" Raven asks.

"It's only a car chase," you say. "We have Shadowfax on the back of this rental, we can't risk either vehicle. And not every crime needs a superhero's touch."

"I guess," Raven says.

You drive on and leave this town behind.

Eventually, you arrive in Albuquerque. You aren't that bad for gas but it is the afternoon, so it's time for lunch.

You carefully drive around through suburbs to make it to the Arroyo del Oso Park, and park. You fetch the tacos from your luggage, and decide to eat...

While you're worried you'll make a mess of the front seat, you want to be ready to leave as soon as you're done.

You and Raven each use heating magic on your tacos. The two of you had four last night, and four now for lunch, so there's still four left for later.

You carefully put hot sauce in the tacos and take a bite. You're very aware of a bit of lettuce that dangles out of the taco and hurry to eat it up. You look over at Raven as she uses her tongue to lap up some crunchy taco bits from the corner of her mouth. She looks at you and she smiles with a little chuckle. You chuckle back and continue eating.

As you eat, another song starts up on the radio.

You and Raven laugh a little more, not expecting that one to come on the air.

"Actually, that does make me realize," she says. "We don't have drinks for this. Maybe milkshakes?"

"Yes, that sounds fine," you say, trying not to laugh while you talk. "Let's see what we have around here."

You drive and find a Whataburger to the northwest. You order two chocolate shakes, pay $6.30 and get a few cents in change. After getting your shakes, you simply drive across the street to park in the large lot belonging to the Lowe's Store Support Center, whatever that is supposed to be.

"Wow, this milkshake is thick," Raven says, to which you find yourself laughing rather strongly. "What's so funny?"

"Well, the fact we were listening to a song called 'Milkshake,'" you say. "And how it isn't actually about milkshakes."

Raven starts to laugh, too.

"Okay, that's probably a good point," she says. "How did it go? My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard~."

"I think so."

"Does my milkshake bring all the boys to the yard?" Raven asks, doing her best not to burst into laughter.

"'All' is always a large generalization," you say. "But it certainly brings a lot of boys to the yard."

"How much is a lot? Like in actual numbers."

"I'm not sure. In the thousands at least, I'd say."

"That's not so bad."

After finishing your second taco, you head back out on the road, heading for the Four Corners Monument, which is still in New Mexico.

You go north and hop on US-550, the closer of the highways. You pass the Cibola National Forest, pass through Bernalillo, San Ysidro, a town called Cuba, then Counselor and Nageezi. You pass by Huerfano, through Napi HQ and Ojo Amarillo, and come close to Nenahnezad. By now, you're on Indian Route 36 and soon meet up with US-491 going even further north. You're only on it for a little while as you turn west and Shiprock.

Route US-64 ironically takes you out of New Mexico into Arizona, through Teec Hos Pos, onto US-160, and then that takes you back into New Mexico to arrive at the Four Corners Monument.

"Wait," Raven says. "This is it?"

You drive up to see a sitting area with railing and raised platforms, and engravings in the ground to note the exact intersection of all the states. You park in a couple spots to again place Shadowfax safely, then exit.

"Well, I suppose the appeal is the geographical novelty," you say as you walk up. "Look, I can visit all four states in a matter of moments, without being a speedster."

You walk around the center, making sure not to step on the state seals. You return to New Mexico and to Raven.

"Ha ha," she says sarcastically. "Let's take our picture in all four states at once."

"Alright," you say with a chuckle.

You two stand on the center and you bring out your phone. You hold it out like a selfie while bringing Raven in close with your other arm. She giggles as she snuggles up to you. You hold the phone up so you can get at least one of the state seals in the shot, and take a couple pictures. You look at them and see you were mostly on target.

"That angle might be a bit high," Raven says. "Starting to see down my shirt."

"Well I'll save those for myself then," you say, making her laugh. "Let's try a couple more."

You keep the camera down more and take more pictures.

"Yeah, I like those," Raven says. "For one, your arm isn't really in it. Even though these are selfies, it doesn't look that way, it just looks like a close up picture."

"I'll hold onto all of these, then," you say. "Let's get back on the road, it's another five hours to the Grand Canyon."

"Wow, that far?" Raven asks. "Are you sure we'll find anywhere to stay overnight?"

"Of course," you say. "It's a tourist attraction, it'll have places to stay."

The Jinx arc was very amusing and I would like to see how Jinx ended up. If she ever matured/what happened to Kid Flash and how Raven would deal with her now that her emotions are "balanced out".

Meeting the Null family was fantastic, I loved all the scenes with the suitors they were hilarious, and them Greek relatives and they friends : * poifect.

I loved how villains were sprinkled out during R and R's various trips and I'm expecting Kitten to make one last return to make 3 appearances and top everything off.

I loved the minute details from Teen Titans that you expanded into their own stories that helped the worldbuilding so much; for example Tommy (I think), the dude Raven met at a party with the Blackfire episode. Overall you've done an amazing job with the story and it was a treat catching up on everything I've missed. Can't wait to see where you take it :)

"Your hips definitely don't lie," you say, getting her to laugh.

"Yes, thank you," she says. "My hips are very honest."

"The trumpets are great," you say.

"Yeah, they really are," she says.

"Oh, this is a good one," you say.

"Wow, 'standing there with nothing on,'" Raven says. "I wonder why you like it."

"I said ooh girl," you say, ignoring that comment. "Shock me like an electric eel~. Baby girl! Turn me on with your electric feel."

You drive on through Dennehotso, Tsegi, Tonalea, the amusingly named Tuba City, then Cameron and Gray Mountain. Raven brings out the tacos again around this time to have her dinner.

"Do you mind if I have both of the last soft tacos?" she asks.

"Yes, that's fine," you say.

She leaves the crunchy tacos in the box and heats up the soft tacos. Smelling the tacos does make you hungry, but you want to keep going to make good time. You also see the gas tank is starting to run low, but a road sign says a station is coming up.

After a few more miles, you spot the Country Club Mobil and pull in. You forgot to check which side the gas cap is on so you slow down and glance out at the back. Thankfully it is the driver side, so you just pull into a station, again taking Shadowfax into account. This unfortunately blocks the pump behind you, so you hurry to fill the tank.

The Challenger seems to have only an 18 gallon tank, give or take. You just need to fill it back up about 15 gallons. The price is reasonable, too, you won't have to pay more than $40.

Raven quietly finishes her tacos while you stand with the pump. With the car off, there's no radio so there is just the sound of traffic and the station itself.

"Um, are you almost done?" a rather snotty voice asks.

You look over to see a rather scrawny woman with denim cut off shorts and bright colored sandals, and honestly too big of a top because the side of her bra is showing. She has a minivan and you can hear rowdy children even though they're in the back.

"Yes," you say. "Almost."

The numbers tick by on the pump and you approach 15 gallons. You give the handle a couple of squeezes to get as close to that mark as possible, and let it stay at 14.984. You pay the $35.28 with credit and put the nozzle back on the pump. You put the gas cap back on, close the latch and get back in the driver's seat as you hear the snotty mother get back in her own vehicle.

"Is she really serious about waiting on that second pump?" Raven asks. "There's another pump that opened up in the time it took you to finish here."

"Well," you say as you start up the car, "some people are just... Ugh."

You look around and see the way is clear, then shift to drive. And then the lady honks on you!

"Are you serious?" Raven says.

"Just stay calm," you say. "We'll just leave her behind."

You pull away from the pump, make your way around to the exit, and pull back onto the highway.

"Can you believe this?" Raven says. "I think she was glaring at you as we drove away."

"It's alright," you say. "We'll never see her again."

You continue the drive but still have a couple of hours to go before reaching Grand Canyon Village and any place to stay.

A) Find a place to park and eat

"Yes, I can understand that," you chuckle.

You understand even more when you run into the incredibly powerful guitar solo at the end! Raven can't help but smirk while she headbangs. Seeing her get into the song makes you smile and even chuckle again.

You move onto Interstate 40 and find you're on the historic Route 66! You wish you could take in this iconic strip of highway but the sun is already setting. You eventually transition off Route 66 to AZ-64. You drive through open fields before passing through the town of Valle, then go through more open field before entering the Kaibab National Forest. Then you pass through Tusayan and turn off AZ-64 at Center Road.

The town of Grand Canyon Village has a lot of trees, so you're even more careful as you drive further in. You pull up to a rather complex intersection with Village Loop Drive, but you do see some places to the left.

You turn left and go with the Grand Canyon National Park Lodges. They have plenty of spaces so you pull in sideways to keep Shadowfax safe. You and Raven grab your luggage and go inside.

"Welcome to Grand Canyon National Park Lodges," the concierge says. "How many rooms?"

"One is fine," you say. "Doesn't matter how many beds."

"Alright," the concierge says as he types into the computer. "Here we are. Room 5, just down the hall to the right. How many nights are you planning to stay?"

"Including tonight, just two."

"Okay," the concierge says while typing. "Check out on Thursday will be noon at the latest."

"Thank you," you say as you're handed the room key.

You and Raven head off to Room 5 and go inside. It's a very nice room, very clean, as is the bed. You and Raven sit down and you finally have your crunchy taco dinner.

"So if we're staying a whole day tomorrow," Raven says, "are we going into the Grand Canyon? Like actually going down into it?"

"Do you not want to?"

"No, it's fine either way," she says. "I just want to know if that's what we're doing."

"Then we'll go down into the canyon," you say. "We can even visit..."

"I think it's in the western most part of the Grand Canyon area. It'll be a pretty good round trip there and back."

"And I assume that if we're going to a lake, I'll need my swimsuit?" she asks.

"Well, more than likely," you say. "It'll be a nice way to cool off, that's for sure."

"Yeah," she says. "So an early morning for us or can we sleep in a little?"

You nod while eating as Raven heads to the bathroom. You finish eating by the time Raven is done brushing her teeth. You brush your teeth next, as well as wash your face. You return to the main room as Raven has finished changing into clothes to sleep for the night. She gives you some privacy to change into your sleeping clothes, and then the two of you rest on the bed, just the same as you did last night.

"So if we're going to drive out to the lake," she asks. "How are we doing it? I mean, we have both a car and Shadowfax, but do we really need to bring both to the lake?"

We bought the Challenger, we're using it.

"Yes, we're bringing both," you say. "If we take Shadowfax, the Challenger is vulnerable to thieves or hoodlums. And if we only take the Challenger, that means having to unhook Shadowfax and then hook him back up later."

"Alright," she says with a slight sigh.

She picks up the television remote and turns the TV on. She surfs the guide while a weather report plays. It'll of course be very hot and sunny tomorrow, but rainy later in the week. Just your luck, it seems.

You double check your map, and firstly, the fastest route to Lake Mead is 250 miles, and that could still take 3 and a half hours at the fastest. You can find stops along the way, as Route 66 aka I-40 is the way to and from Lake Mead. Getting up early, say before 8, means you can make the drive and arrive before noon. You'll be passing by road stops and through small towns, so you have a way to get lunch along the way.
