"Right now before you do, if that's alright."

"Are you sure you don't want to take one with me?" she asks with a sly smile as she slinks along the bed.

"Oh, that's very tempting," you say, "and would certainly be a lot of fun, but we can't distract ourselves. Maybe later."

She scoffs but still smiles as you go to the bathroom. You strip, shower and dry off, but realize you left your clothes in the main room. You exit in just your towel to see Raven reclining back on the bed, but head closest to the bathroom. Her legs smooth against each other, her tanktop is up enough for you to see midriff, but of course her bosom is front and center while she has a naughty, lip-biting smile as she watches you upside-down.

"Well hello," you say as you walk over. "Why do I feel like you just want to play around?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about," she says, still smiling.

You go to your luggage and bring out clothing but Raven hasn't taken her eyes off you.

"Aren't you going to shower?" you ask her with a chuckle.

"I will," she says playfully. "I'm just getting... ready."

Raven rolls over and sits up. She keeps her eyes on you as she walks to the bathroom door before she steps inside.

You dress, Raven finishes her shower and gets dressed after, with you not looking to give her privacy.

"Okay," she says. "Ready."

You and Raven pack up, load up the MagiPocket and ride Shadowfax around, and find Sharp's Motorsports. You pull in and see quite the selection of bikes, tires and parts, but you hope they have what you're looking for.

"Good morning," an employee says as he walks out. "That's a great motorcycle there."

"Thank you," you say.

"What can I help you with?" the employee asks as you and Raven stand up.

"I was actually hoping to find something to tow my bike," you say. "We're going to be renting a car because we're picking up family."

"Oh, okay, okay. I'll check in the back. Chances are, though, it'll only be a one wheel hitch. Is that okay?"

"I suppose it'll have to be," you say.

You and Raven follow the employee inside, wait at the front as they go to the back, and only have to wait for a few minutes. The employee comes back with quite a few choices, varying mostly in size.

"What vehicle are you renting?" he asks.

"A Challenger," you say.

"Wow!" he says with a grin and a laugh. "Nice choice. Then you'll definitely want one of these bigger ones. Bigger the sturdier, but admittedly pricier, too."

You check the price tags and understand already. You're already spending quite a bit on the car you're about to pick up, and will certainly spend more from here on out...

"Well, I suppose I'll have to go with the top model," you say.

"Alright then," the employee says. "Lets get this to check out."

The employee careers the bulky triangular brace for you and goes to a counter. You and Raven follow and he scans in the price. With tax, it's $270, but you of course use credit.

"Alright," the employee says. "Do you need help getting that around if you only have your bike?"

"No, we'll be alright," you say. "Thank you."

You carry the towing hitch, follow Raven out and go back to Shadowfax. You slip the hitch into a normal pocket of the knapsack and drive off.

You arrive at the local Hertz with time to spare and pull into a parking spot right at the front. Raven stays with Shadowfax and the hitch while you go inside.

"Hello and welcome to Hertz car rentals," the lady at the front counter says. "Do you have a car reserved?"

"Yes," you say. "A Dodge Challenger under the name Rorek Null."

The receptionist nods and checks her computer.

"Yes, here you are," she says. "On time for the 10 AM pick-up."

She brings out a clipboard with forms on it.

"Obviously the first is personal information," she says.

Name and phone number are easy enough but your address might be a bit more complicated...

You go with the Titan Tower address in California, though you don't really know the whole thing. Does it actually have a traditional address? You just write "Titans Tower, Jump City, CA, 94121" on the form and be done with it.

"Titans Tower?" the lady asks. "As in, the superheroes?"

"Yes, I happen to have one with me right now," you say. "See out there? By the motorcycle?"

You point to the glass door and the lady looks over to see Raven sitting on Shadowfax, idly kicking her legs and looking off at the distance.

"That's Raven of the Teen Titans," you say. "We've been staying together, traveling together, y'know."

"Well alright then," the lady says.

The paperwork is put away and the lady buzzes someone over. A male employee walks over, shakes your hand and leads you out to the lot. You see the Challenger there in its gun metal gray and smile as you step closer.

"Here you are," the man says as she hands over the keys. "Now, I noticed the motorcycle. How are you going to travel with them both?"

"Oh, we're towing the motorcycle," you say. "We just bought the hitch and will hook it up."

"Oh, okay," he nods. "We have people who can help with that, since some people rent trucks to tow things. If you want, I can ask one to help you."

"For an additional charge?" you ask.

"Well, yes, but only a small amount."

"That doesn't sound so bad," you say. "I'd appreciate the help."

"Alright, I'll get our guys while you bring the bike around," the man says.

"Right away," you say.

You go around to the front and to Shadowfax.

"The Hertz people are going to help hook Shadowfax up," you tell Raven.

"Oh, okay," Raven says.

She hops off and you wheel Shadowfax to the back. Raven follows and sees the Challenger.

"Oooh, nice color," she says.

"Yes, it's very nice," you say.

The Hertz crew comes over, you hand them the towing brace and they work to hook it up to the Challenger. It goes on simply enough, and you help them with Shadowfax.

"It's alright, boy, it's for good reason," you tell him.

"Yes, he talks to his motorcycle," Raven tells the crew.

You have a pursed smile as that defense sinks in.

Shadowfax's front tire hooks up into the hitch and everyone dusts off their hands.

"Thank you, gentlemen," you say as you shake hands.

"Thank you," Raven says as she goes to the passenger side door.

You unlock the car and both of you hop in.

"Nice interior," she says, smoothing her hand on the seat.

"Yes, very nice," you say.

You buckle up, start the engine, adjust the mirrors, and carefully drive out of the parking lot, very aware that Shadowfax being attached to the back complicates things. You drive away from Hertz and head out of town, and it's thankfully a straight path with the highway.

"Finally on the road again," you say. "With some time to spare before breakfast ends. Perhaps we can still get something at..."

"A diner. It might be easiest to get in and out given we're towing Shadowfax."

You drive along and find an IHOP and a Waffle House right next to each other.

"Pancakes or waffles?" you ask as you pull into a U-turn lane. "Choose quickly, our window to turn is coming up.

"They're both good," Raven says. "Waffles."

You make the U-turn and pass IHOP to pull into the Waffle House parking lot. You make sure to take a spot near the lot's exit, taking up two or three spots sideways because of Shadowfax. You make sure to put the car in park, something you haven't had to do in a long time. You and Raven head in, and Waffle House is not all that busy so you find a nice window seat. You help Raven with her chair and then take your seat.

The laminated menus are there on the table so you pick them up and take a quick look. You've been to Waffle House before but not for breakfast.

"I'm thinking of going with this Sausage, Egg, Cheese and Hashbrown Bowl," you tell Raven. "The picture certainly makes it look filling."

"Hmm," she says as she considers her options. "I think I'll go with waffles, surprisingly."

The two of you chuckle.

"Are you going to have one of those flavored options?" you ask. "Peanut butter or chocolate chip."

"Maybe," she says. "There are those chocolate chip waffles that Eggo makes, but I bet these will have even more."

A waitress comes over, you give her your order of the hashbrown bowl and the chocolate chip waffles, as well as glasses of milk for the both of you.

"Alright, I'll be back with those drinks first," the waitress says.

The waitress collects the menus and goes to the kitchen while you and Raven sit back and look out the window.

"Looks like we've got a clear day," you say. "Usually there are storms around this time of year, but maybe we're far enough north."

"So then we should be able to get far, right?" she asks.

"Oh, yes, very far," you say. "Though we will need to keep the petrol in mind. Er, gasoline."

"Right," she says. "The tank was full when we got it, right? So we won't need to stop for a long time."

"Yes, that is true," you say. "We've got the leftovers, so we won't need to stop for lunch, either."

"Oh that's right," Raven says. "So that means eating while you drive?"

"Well, I suppose we shouldn't, that's distracted driving. We ate while on Shadowfax but that's because he can take care of himself. We probably should pull over for lunch..."

The drive continues on and you glance around at the dashboard while there's no traffic ahead of you. You turn the radio on and see what there is.

"Oooh, groovy," you say.

You drum along on the steering wheel, and Raven even bobs her head a little.

"I~ couldn't ask for another,," she sings along quietly. "No, I couldn't ask for another~."

"Sing it out, Raven, you don't need to be shy."

"Well I don't really know the lyrics," she giggles. "I~ couldn't ask for another. ... No, I couldn't ask for another~."

The two of you chuckle hearing the slide whistle before the chorus.

Raven sticks to singing along with "I couldn't ask for another" and the chorus from here. You stick to drumming with the bass guitar. Then the next song starts and you realize this is a 1990's station.

Sirens can be heard coming from a direction, but first a car suddenly flies in, dangerously weaving through the traffic! You look and see cop cars hurrying to give chase, so clearly a crime was committed.
