If they're not federal law enforcement, then they are cops that are hired and empowered by a democratically elected government. They are to enforce laws that lawmakers have passed, and those lawmakers were hired by the constituency they serve. Cops do not and should not pick and choose which law they decide to uphold. That's not their job, and that's not what they were hired to do. They made an oath to uphold the law. If those laws are racist, then its our job to kick out those politicians and vote in new ones. If we can't do that on the federal level, then do it on the state level. The majority of us only deal with local level cops. If the laws they're upholding are unjust and serve corporate interest, then we use the system to serve our needs. A good cop is a cop that holds true to his/her oath of office. You're misdirecting the blame here.
