No, because it doesn't actually protect me in any way.

Years? Not likely.
Longer than when they think everything will magically be normal next week? Hell yes.

If I'm feeling sick, I might do it to protect others from catching whatever I have, ok?

But just in general? Probably not, ok?

I might, I like that it hides who I am so I don't have to worry about being recognized in public.

Maybe. As someone who works in food service, I interact with customers face to face and handle food constantly. Honestly, I think measures like sneeze guards, face masks, and a reduced amount of social distancing should remain in place.

Its efficacy is greatly diminished if it's not done communally, so probably not.

In Japan you don't get to call in sick unless you're REALLY sick, otherwise you're expected to wear the mask and still go to work.

Alternatively, some people in Japan wear them when going to public gatherings to reduce the chances of catching something.

The thing is, most Western cultures, even after this, would probably discriminate against people wearing masks, seeing them as some dangerous sick person, if nobody else is currently wearing them.

I might keep it around after this is all over, but I don't see myself wearing it much (if at all)

Well since at least 25% of people who have covid are asymptomatic, yes I will continue to wear it when I go out in public even if I feel fine. So I can avoid spreading it to others as easily if I do catch it and just don't know it. At least until there's a vaccine for it.
