What is it for?It's an equation I derived for the electric field induced at a distance r from a wire on the z-axis that has 0 current at time t=0 and afterwards has current I(t) = t. The absolute clusterfuck comes from the fact that electromagnetic disturbances don't propagate instantly but rather at the speed of light, so the time between the current being I(t) = t and the time the magnetic field as a result of a segment of wire at some z propagates to r is the "retardant time". I'd go into more, but it would take a lot more words to explain.
