I haven't seen as much of the America The Office as the British version (whose Pam equivalent was NEVER very good-looking), but Pam starts off really nice, pretty face, arburn hair, etc. then becomes middle-aged and unattractive. She becomes...I dunno. Her fair is chubby and unpleasant.

I just rewatched the series on DVD and kind of thought the opposite. In season 1 especially she comes off as somewhat dour; frumpy wardrobe, never smiles, bags under the eyes, etc, but becomes quite pretty as time goes on. Yes, she does gain some weight in the final seasons but I wouldn't say that disqualifies her being attractive
