Chinese americans I know (ones who grew up here) seem to dislike chinese people and speak about them with disdain

Even non-chinese asians seems to dislike chinese people too

Whats the deal? Whats the beef all about?

I think we have to differentiate between "Chinese people", and the Chinese government. The regular people in China are like you and me. Most Chinese people that I know who talk about their disdain for China are pretty much all referring to the government over there. It's a shame people mix these 2 things up... Tons of people in China most likely hate the same people the Chinese Americans hate as well, they just can't speak up about it...

Yeah as the other guy said, I think a lot of resentment for "the Chinese" is actually directed at the Chinese government and the people who support it.

The world is shades of gray but China's government is kinda as close to being evil as non cartoon reality can get.

They have no freedoms/rights, state media including social media, concentration/re-education camps, interfere in other nations, steal businsess secrets/IP, ignore copyright worldwide, commit constant cyberattacks on every other nation more than everyone else combined and put a stranglehold on legitimate businsess/trade the world over.

And a lot of Chinese ex-pats still defend that governmet which rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

I don't think your friends hate the Pork-Bun salesman down the street they hate the guys who wouldn't care if their Government "Vanished" doctors who warn of virus outbreaks and censor social media.

Hell as we speak a pro-free speech Chinese Billionaire is still "Missing" after he insulted the Government and no one cares. No one is even talking about it

I fit the bill. I am Chinese American, but despise the Chinese government, people who shill for them, and a lot of aspects of the culture as well.

1. The government controls too much of the information they consume over there. Anything that damages the name of the CCP is banned, and if you dare say the contrary, you get "vanished." Mao Zedong is worshipped like a god over there despite killing millions of Chinese. Their reach has gotten so big that it's affecting how other countries express themselves. The entire Rockets team got censored and banned from China just because the GM supported Hong Kong. The rest of the world is afraid of acknowledging Taiwan as a country because the CCP may get mad.
2. Uyghurs concentration camps. Millions of Urgur Muslims are detained in them. Escapees have noted being raped,tortured, being fed unknown drugs, forced to eat pork, and sterilization of the men.
3. Racism. It's taught from birth over there. They're fed propaganda videos to hate Japanese, Uyghurs, and others. Their shows and movies routinely paint other countries in a terrible light. The word for white man translated literally is "Monster man." The word for black people is "black monsters." Meanwhile, they'll show extreme pride for being of Chinese descent. It's like how some people see white supremacy over here, but instead of being seen as some racist weirdo, you're just normal.
4. Shameless Intellectual Theft. They sell tons of bootleg versions of games, shows, fake brand names, and even entire company structures.
5. Poor treatment of animals. Look up Chinese zoos and wet markets.
6. Filial Piety. Basically, you need to kiss the ground old people walk on. Parents can beat their children, shame them for birth deformities, criticize them endless, whatever they want while their children have to do everything they can to please their parents. This is where the whole Asian parent stereotype came from where the Asian child is supposed to be insanely good at school, play music, and other shit while the parents do nothing for the child but smack them when they go out of turn.
7. Mianzi (face). You'll most likely hear the translation for this as "honor." You bring honor to the family or you damaged my honor. But really it's just reputation. One of their guiding principles in the culture is "...but how will this look to other people?" If my son does bad in school, I'll lose face! If I a lower rank employee corrects me, I'll lose face! It makes it so you care more about your reputation than your family, the truth, and self-improvement.

Hold up, hold up, the words for "White Monster" and "Black Monster" all have "gui" as the second character and is a racist derivative of "Bai ren" or "Hei ren". We don't call them monsters in common language. That'll be like saying that we here in America uses the "N word" on a regular common basis for every African American person that we meet.

The part where Chinese and by extension Asia born Asians treat Black people that I can agree with though. Asians brought up Americanized treat others better usually.

It's common with Cantonese speakers with which I grew up with (watching shows growing up and being around them.) It's nowhere near as taboo as the N word is. I'll admit that I don't know how taboo it is with Mandarin speakers though.

Never knew about point 2 and 3. Have heard of extreme levels of 6 though.

Like someone being allergic to shrimp shells or something and tell the parents not to cook shrimp at all or at the very least remove the shells first because she is pregnant and doesnt want to take any risks. But because of this elder worship the parents were like 'no you have to eat shrimp' and still cooked the shrimp with the shells because they dont like to be told theyre wrong and that theyre always right

Normally I think you're full of shit, but this is pretty spot on with what I've discussed with Chinese-American friends that still have familial ties to mainland China. The general culture is harsh.

Because those loser Chinese/Asian American born and raised in the U.S. want think if they shit on their own people then non Asians would like them more. That shit is sad as hell because everyone will look at them as one type of Asian and won't care if you're U.S. born or foreign born. I kinda don't blame them though because of all the western brainwashing and racism, they want to distance themselves and they think that'll help them with their insecurities. All Asians need to support all Asians...well except for the self hating ones. Don't support those losers who are embarrassed of their culture/roots.
