iirc it was an allegory for primitives/people rising against the tyrannical face of fascism just like LOTR and its Industrial Revolution symbolisms/metaphors

I imagine its like Doctor Who or various other fantasy stories, with certain moments being fixed points in time and other things being malleable. Star Wars is also big on self-fulfilling prophecies
