Yes.

We need the government to tell us what cars to buy. We need the government to tell us that plastic straws are bad. We need the government to tell me to stay away from plastic bags. There are already states/cities that have banned these products.

That is because companies take advantage of laws and regulations that don't exist in an attempt to maximize profit which in turns harms the environment and/or people.

Ok and what political party do you affiliate with? Because if it's Democrat, then we need Uncle Sam to get us jobs, give us a monthly allowance, and tell business owners who they have to sell things to.

Religion has no place in politics or publically funded education. Furthermore I'm conservative (not American however). Technically I voted green party last canadian election and they lean on the liberal side of the social spectrum.

Nevertheless ! I am thankful i read the book of God today, for it reminded me that if I hurt people I am not a good person. It was a good thing I read it, otherwise I would have surely committed all kinds of heinous acts against humanity because we simply have no other understanding of the universe

Correlation does not equal causation, really as simple as that.

The only one of those you could even argue is encouraged by the Abrahamic religions (which it isn't) is homophobia, and still many religious people are ok with homosexuality than ever before. It really is just a societal trend.

tolerance is a product of society. not religion. those who are religious and accepting intentionally misinterpret or ignore the word of their gods.

I went to school with quite a few gangbangers. A very, very common justification for what they do, while still believing, is that "only God can judge them."
