According to the video there are 10 hours worth if content now and it is alpha. I never buy EA unless i really want to support the dev so i say no. Wait until full release/ more content drop

Has anyone even looked at the list of Temtem? None of them stand out and none of them are memorable. Pokmon instantly had Pikachu as a recognizable fan favorite/mascot. Even after looking at the list, I can't remember a single one.

So it's a Pokemon game for people that care about good game play. Well, it has been made obvious that the majority of the Pokemon fanbase does not care whether their products have good game play. But it can still carve a little market for itself from disillusioned former fans I think.

The art style in this game is fucking terrible. Whoever says it looks better than Pokemon is out of their mind.

I might give it a try when it releases but I have zero expectations for it. I'm more interested in how Yokai Watch 4 will turn out.

Honestly, there's a reason Nintendo was so actively pushing them. They knew it wouldn't stick, and they could just use them to pretend they were open to competition while actively crushing anyone that actually could compete.

well yes... it should be lol. smt is a better franchise but it appeals to a smaller demographic. pokemon has a larger target audience since its child friendly. i dont get what youre trying to say

fair. its still silly to ignore the other half of the appeal to a monster catcher game. monster design is fairly important but again that shouldn't be the only thing indicative of quality.

I agree with you but on the other hand I don't think balanced combat or online features should be treated as the only things indicative of quality either.

I'd do a better comparison (I'm trying to compare battles and trainer design here) but the image limits made me had to cut a lot of the original Temtem shots and the screengrabs weren't great quality anyway. Someone else can probably do a better job.

It will take a shit ton more work by the devs to make this compete with pokemon. It's a nice distraction, but it just isn't at the level to compete with one of the best selling franchises out there. Especially if the devs are already getting overwhelmed by the most basic mmo problem out there (overcrowding at launch krabby)

balance for competitive play? but the combat is praised for more than that. the first thing that comes to mind for me is the battle animations. design aside, pokemon sword shield leaves much desired in terms of animation imo

The animations of Temtem I've seen are no better than mediocre SwSh animations. There was huge propaganda about moves like Double Kick being visually uninteresting, but many more moves in the game have decent work put towards them

Pokemon Go servers were absolute shit at launch, too. And that was an official launch, not an alpha release.
