Good game so far

Reached the first blocked path tonight. I went with saving that girl at the first fork instead of traumatising her, and then i turned the dial on the TV instead of hitting it.

i felt like those two choices were the best ones given the circumstances

Does this get as good as 999 and Virtues Last Reward?

The amount of story forks seems far less than 999 and virtues last reward though. Unless i found like the shortest path to a dead end though

Personally, I found it just as good as the nonary series. I think it took me about 50 hours all told.

Got my first credits but it doesnt seem like an ending in the same way branch ends in previous games were endings

The ending i got was Diving into mayumis memories or whatever her name is and finding out Ota and Mayumi arent the cyclops killer
But then it just ends with no sort of conclusion outside of their relationship. What

edit: nvm did not expect an after credits scene especially for an ending i suspect is mundane compared to whats to come

I actually just finished the game last week. I honestly loved it. Compared to VLR and 999 I feel it stands just as strong.

The endings are actually pretty decent as learning about each character is really the most important part. Each ending gets you a little closer to seeing exactly what the motivations of the cast and I felt that was a really great way to turn them from typical anime tropes to actual fully fleshed out characters.

It does have some pretty crazy twists coming up as well as a route that totally goes off the rails at one point so you have a lot to look forward to. I actually went the same route you did at first and man are you in for some surprises going into the second main branch.

I'm going to track this topic, so if you want to discuss anything you have seen I'll come back and check from time to time. I just loved the game so much I'll take any chance I can get to talk about it.

Doesnt matter anyway. At the moment im filling out the left side of the flowchart before i move on other to the right side

What i loved about 999 was how intense that final true route got and that final puzzle. Amazing stuff

If I had to say there was a low point in this game it would be that the puzzles are a little more guesswork then figuring them out. You won't get a moment like the 999 end puzzle here sadly.

This game shines a bit more on character development and fleshing them out more then any Zero Escape game did before which to me was a really good step. I would just like to see a bit more focus on the puzzles if they make a second game.

not sure how i feel about the politician guy being the cyclops killer tbh. maybe its just because hes had barely any screen time at all, but i feel like it would be such a bigger plot point if it was a more established character.

anyways mystery solved, game over

jk ill def be hitting up the right hand side of the flowchart. its gonna suck leaving mizuki traumatized though wtf :/

Mizuki best girl and I'm not even exaggerating.

Like she is in the running for my favorite child character in video games of all time. She is challenging Walking Dead's Clementine.

you're right about her being a great character. i dont know of many other decent child characters in games. rika furude from higurashi is alright

When it comes to the killer, it will make a lot more sense after you finish the other endings.

It's in no small part to the fantastic performance Corina Boettger gave for Mizuki.

OP, care to sum up what you think happened? Whodunnit, why, etc etc. I'd love to see your thoughts on the Somniums you dove into and what information you got out of it. Like that one you talked about in the first post.
