The begining of Yu Yu Hakusho up until the end of the tournament arc is pretty close to perfect
Naruto's Chonin exams were pretty good too, but pretty much only that.

Basically it has all the best parts of a good shonen series, but streamlined so that there's very little if any filler. Being animated by Ufotable probably helps too, because the fight at the end of episode 19 is nothing short of breathtaking.

Oh, and it's not exactly an action series, but I also want to recommend Dr. Stone. All the humans on Earth turn to stone, then 3,700 years later a high school student with a passion for science "wakes up" and takes it upon himself to save the rest of humanity from their stony prisons and bring back modern technology. What makes Senku such an interesting protagonist is that he's overpowered purely from an intellectual standpoint; he can do basically anything he sets out to do with the power of science, but he's entirely reliant on having extra manpower just to make any actual progress. All he could ever manage on his own was gather enough food to keep himself alive. So he's overpowered in a way, but in a way that's balanced around not being able to do everything on his own.

Real talk, I've been meaning to get back into YYH because I haven't seen it since I was too young and stupid to remember anything about it. That describes a...distressing amount of anime for me these days. I only relatively recently watched Cowboy Bebop. So yeah, I got a lot of old anime to catch up on, let alone some of the new anime I wanna watch. So TLDR, sell me on YYH please.

YYH is amazing but dont watch Hunter x Hunter unless you like having every single move explained to you in detail.

I really liked it at first but after a while that s*** got pretty annoying.

There is no good shonen, it's a blight on the form.

I'll second JoJo and Demon Slayer, plus I'll throw in Fire Force as well. Dr. Stone is a great shonen anime, but not for the action.

Also, if you want hot-blooded shonen action but it doesn't necessarily have to be a shonen anime, there's badass stuff like Symphogear out there too.

I rewatched and finished it earlier this year, and it's fantastic. There's some minor hiccups after the Dark Tournament, but it's good throughout with hardly any filler.
