Their booking of Kenny Omega has been horrendous, their women's division is an after thought, and they're too silly at times. The marks are in the ring brothers. Their viewership plummeting will hopefully be a wake up call for them to get their shit together and start booking Omega, Pentagon Jr., etc like the stars they can be.

It's not all that great but there are a lot of great things about it and it shows promise. They respond to feedback pretty quickly also, and they're only a few months in. I'll give it some time before putting down the final verdict, but right now I'll take AEW's issues over WWE's issues any day

AEW is a FAR more entertaining product than WWE. NXT is good, but way more often than not, both Raw and SD are absolute slogs to sit through. I watch an episode of Dynamite and i feel like ive been watching it for 20 minutes because it breezes by and i want more.

WWE is such a shit show that I've pretty much completely given up on their product. I watch Bray Wyatt segments and that's it.

They need four or five core guys that ruthlessly destroy everybody else. Omega, Cody, Pac, Jericho, and Moxley should be running the place. Why is Omega either an after thought or getting his ass beat every week? How did they take a guy who was WM main event ready-over and cool him off so much in only half a year?

Same re: Bray. He's the only thing they have going that's worth paying attention to. Seth and AOP are in there recently too, but we'll see where that goes.

I think Omega will pop back up soon, I think their approach has been to lay off the pushes with the Elite for now so people don't resent them for pushing all the VPs immediately. I would say Omega is bound to win the world title within the next few champions...

I've been trying to get back into wrestling after years and years and AEW is the only promotion that resonated with me, until the past few episodes of Dynamite. I loved AEW's initial PPVs and the first few weeks of Dynamite but their booking is so confusing. I only have a very baseline level of wrestling knowledge but I understand how much of a big deal Kenny Omega is, and how much they should be pushing him as a superstar figure They've also ran The Young Bucks into the ground, to the point where I know exactly what every single match of theirs will look like.

The silver lining to this is that AEW responds to feedback very quickly and they're not too proud to admit mistakes.

This. If Omega and the Bucks were getting the pushes that their skill levels deserve, then people would be hating on AEW for the Elite just pushing themselves and not building new stars. Hangman hasn't been doing much after that first match with Jericho either, and Cody even purposely added that "if I lose, I'll never challenge for the AEW world title again" stipulation to his match with Jericho specifically to dispel the "we're just pushing ourselves" motive from people's minds.

Give the company time to develop. Like, at least a year. Let them build up new guys. Let Jericho put people over like the veteran he is.

AEW needs more storylines too. At least with WWE in the good ol' days, it seemed like there was a story behind all the wrestlers.

Does anyone here like NWA Power?

I like it because it's easy to consume as it's only an hour every week. Some of the storylines are solid as well.

AEW definitely does need more storylines and less 20 minute matches with too many spots. It seems like everyone has those. Barely you get a match under ten minutes. Also they do the picture within a picture way too much. It seems like they interrupt almost every match that way.

Yeah big spot fests don't get anyone over. I remember being infuriated during one of their PPVs cause someone got nailed with a Canadian Destroyer on the fucking ring apron and then immediately went into another contrived spot without so much as a replay. NXT would've made that way more impactful.

Here's a better question. Why is it that of all the guys in that version of the bullet club/elite the one that is having the most success is now Marty Scurll? Don't get me wrong, I love Marty, he was my favorite of the group, but Omega should be on top at this point in time, but he feels more like TJP. Sure he's there, but not really having any form of an impact.

Raw: Seth Rollins is awful and Becky Lynch is cringe. Sadly Asuka will probably be fed to Becky.

SD: Ooh, Bray Wyatt and his puppets! King Corbin with his Burger King crown! A guy dressed up like a dog! Yay! This is awesome, not.

NXT: Boring af. Worst commentary team in the business.

NWA: Interesting concept, but I got bored with it after the second episode.

Impact: It's getting better and heel RVD is really good, but Impact is meh at best.

AEW: Not perfect, but it's the fastest two hours in wrestling.

Which I don't disagree with. Jericho, Cody, and Moxley have been delivering great "ring psychology" style matches, but most of the roster just isn't there yet. I enjoy the indy spotfests, but I get that not everyone does.

Yeah, that's my issue with it. It loses meaning if every wrestler is doing these flips and suicide dives and going through tables. There has to be a better balance.

No it doesn't. That's wrestling. No one went to the top rope back in the day. Hell, no one did DDTs either. Now both are common place.

AEW is fine ring wise. Their problem is that they have a weak women's division and the stars arent getting enough time to be stars

They'll add one eventually, but right now they're just focused on getting the company off the ground. My ideal setup would be for them to have the world title, a secondary US/Intercontinental title, and a tertiary hardcore title that's defended only on AEW Dark or in "lights out" unsanctioned matches.

WWE has this problem too lately, there's a suicide dive like every match now.

Another way to phrase it is that some of the matches feel like a string of spots rather than the moves having purpose and progression. You also see wrestlers moving themselves into position for spots. I think there needs to be better selling too.

I still find the matches and the product overall entertaining, but most aren't really memorable. I would be more likely to go back and watch a match like Mysterio vs Dean Malenko from WCW.

Yeah, because they are two of the best of all time. Watch a full episode of Raw or Nitro. Theres gonna be 90% garbage.

Actual wrestling is better now and lucha libre was been doing dives for a long time and it's doing fine.

Wrestling is just lacking a star

BLASPHEMY! BURN THE HERETIC!

But seriously, I got turned off by that battle royale they did at the very start. I don't care if it was a pre show or whatever the fuck, that was just embarrassing and it made me realize it's just going to be just like an indy show with a bigger budget and I hate hate hate the indy/modern style. First impressions are everything.

Now, i've gone back and looked at some other stuff like the Cody/Dustin match. It was good, but like with WWE or anything else, I'm not going to sit through a bunch of stuff I don't like just to see the few good parts of a show.

At least there's the NWA. They're not perfect, but it's the closest show out there today to the wrestling I like. I went in totally blind and they won me over with people like Tim Storm, Nick Aldis, and Eli Drake. Then there's the people I already knew like Trevor Murdoch (a perfect fit for the show) and Aron Stevens who is a big lovable goofball.

Not the dives themselves, the preponderance of them. I am referring to the fact that moves and spots should be paced.

Maybe we have different tastes, but I'm not a big fan of seeing several big moves and spots in a row with no build and the wrestlers no-selling them. That SCU match against the Lucha Bros had Kazarian put through a table outside, yet he gets back into the ring seconds later like nothing happened.
