I'm seeing this more and more. I'm seeing it from people I consider intelligent! Loose, loosing, what the fuck? This is first grade education here. Lose and loose are two different words with completely different meanings and pronunciations. Why are adults now confused about this?

I always get really annoyed by misused apostrophes. Like some people throw those things into any word that ends in an s.

Absolutely. I've seen plenty of fools do that as well.

as an amateur fantasy writer and aspiring fantasy author who goes to a lot of different writing subreddits and stuff, i'm always disappointed at how often "rogue" is misspelled as "rouge".

Blame Sonic Adventure 2.

The one good thing is that you immediately know somebody is stupid as fuck if they write "should of"

this, and also "i seen" instead of "i saw" or "i've seen"

Na, I wouldn't say they are stupid or anything. If it's a "code switching "type act, I'm fine with it. Like, if they say it correctly in a professional environment, then it's whatever.

I think lose/loose, especially in "loosing the game", is my least favorite misspelling/typo.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

I somewhat understand this because people don't usually use the word "rouge".

This one literally makes me cringe (literally literally, not figuratively literally). Virtually any other misspelling or misuse can be attributed to autocorrect or a slip of the mind but this one is so prolific and clearly done on purpose. How tenuous does your grasp of English have to be to think "should of" makes any kind of sense?

This one comes from how we speak. We usually don't fully enunciate "should have." We say it more like "should've." So now a whole generation grew up hearing that and thinks people were saying "should of" all along.
