The one time that I worked Christmas Eve retail, we were closing at 6 and some people came in around 5:45 and were trying to say that it was false advertising because the store was normally 24 hours.

I work retail and pretty much tune out everyone. I typically work before the store opens just cleaning the store so I put on my headphones and tune out. Nearly every other worker in the morning besides me speaks Spanish anyway.

Working retail is horrible, especially around the holidays. Being patient is hard.

Yeah, if there's something I can pride myself on it's that I've never lost my composure to the awful customers and all the regular customers like me.

I worked yesterday and it was pretty bad. Whole Foods, so probably not as bad as a retailer, but still. Something about the holidays really brings the worst out of people.

The short of it is my mom has gone into hospice care after a drawn out battle with cancer and my dad has betrayed my family by getting hooked on meth. Something he just recently admitted but has been doing for at least a year. Caught him trying to steal my stuff, steal my mom's medicine, etc. Total shock to see someone I really respected become a simpleton overnight from frying his brain. And some of the shittier members of my family blame me for his meth addiction saying if I took better care of mom he wouldn't of had to of started meth. Well excuse me for working 50 hour weeks and throwing my college career down the drain to keep the lights on and food on the table for four kids who aren't mine while Dad blows all his money (money that was mostly donated to us) on a hole in his arm.

Always feels good to get that off my chest. How are you tackling your problems?

Oh and the eating disorder thing hasn't gotten any better, I've thrown up at least one meal a day the last two weeks. That shit is truly addicting, feeling all gross and bloated from something dumb you've eaten, the relief after you get rid of it. I went into work today after throwing up lunch and could barely type my code number in for the register my energy was so low. From full to almost passing out in like a half hour, something about that is crazy powerful. I'm just such a nutjob at this point.

And my coworker decided to quit today so I get stuck working a 16 hour shift fml
at least I can shitpost on CE thanks to the Tim Hortons wifi across the street.

Retail pharmacy is probably one of the worst subtypes of retail. People are so demanding and ungrateful. We understand you want things done fast, but were not going to rush things as fast as possible. Meds are a serious thing so we want to make sure its done right.
