Just googled the topic title and it looks like she got tired of all the stress from touring, had a breakdown on-stage, went home to start a family life, disappeared for like 5 years, got divorced in 2016 and then released a 2017 album that didn't sell well at all.

Im a big nelly furtado fan so I know.
after that big Loose album (promiscuous girl, say it right, maneater) she did a Spanish language album that was moderately successful. She got into a big fight with Timbaland (who was the producer on Loose) and went separate from him. she made another album The Spirit Indestructible but it bombed really really bad. I blame them choosing poor singles. Waiting for the Night really should have been the lead single. After that she left her record label and semi produced her next album which also bombed ... I know nothing more about her beyond the one song, but every time I hear I'm Like a Bird I immediately get taken back to my late childhood in my mind. It's one of those nostalgic songs that are almost magical.
