I mean, when you say someone's character is easy to play or that they're only winning because of gimmicks, you're indirectly downplaying their skill. It also isn't very constructive, many people who come to this topic do so to improve, in general your comments are very unhelpful even putting aside how whiny and annoying they sound. If you cared about helping people improve you would do things like point out their habits so they can work on correcting them, not indirectly mock them when you complain how bad Dr. Mario is and how great their character is by comparison. Commenting on what you think your own habits are would also be constructive, it can spark discussion if someone has a suggestion on how you can improve. Hannibal and I do this often.

I'll say that I don't think view is toxic or whatever. I actually like to hear what be thinks of certain characters even if they're complaints, as strange as that sounds. I know he's spoken his mind about every character here like Isa's fishing rod, the Belmont's holy water, Puff in general, ZSS, Wolf and even Kirbo's "easy baked combos". I can't recall if he's said something on Inkling strangely enough. Like I'll bitch about this game online and I could write a long essays on my sheer hatred of quickplay Lucas and DDD players that would be longer than anything I can write on classical Greek warfare. I don't mind character complaints.

However I don't like it some of the talk about dismissing a player's skill based on picked character like it was happening last night with ZSS and NightMarishPie. I don't believe there is any character that really carries in this game except if you play cheesy on wifi. That kind of talk is how I stopped playing Inkling for two months because everyone kept talking about how broken she was early in this game's life. That does bother me.

Otoh I do think Tilly took it a bit far last night.

I just have really bad experiences with laggy Lucas players on quickplay. You're not one of those types but those types can cause a lot of frustration.

I never even really thought that's what it was, if you remember last time we had a similar discussion you apologized if it seemed that way and I said I just took it as a compliment. It's just that to most people it does seem that way.

Hannibal is right that your complaints have merit, as you're mostly complaining about gimmicks, i.e. what is usually a characters greatest strength. Learning to counter them is a huge part of getting better at the game

Nice, I played in a couple earlier today and managed to win one, was nice to see they increased time per match to 4 minutes

Omg I try so hard to beat Ant and never succeed. I wish he would post and tell me what I'm doing wrong. Seems like I can hardly ever use pound effectively because bair is a long lasting hitbox that beats it. Nair and upair as approach are risky because you basically can't touch his shield. Seems like you can't shield dair, it shield pokes with pretty much full shield.

Try to observe his matches against the better players there. Everyone says Bowser Jr. is a linear character and if you know what they're going for he's easy to beat.

I hate Bowser, he only has to win neutral half as many times as you, lives forever, has a fast and safe command grab, a frame 6 up b or something stupid (so just like G&W you can't touch his shield), and even though it's easily avoidable his down b breaks full shield with one hit (especially bad for Puff). Only bad thing about him is he's combo food

Tell me about it. Ive been practicing Sheik and its a lot of work to kill Bowser only for him to kill me at 60% with almost any of his moves.

Yeah Bowser is dumb. I had a commanding lead against him but since he hits like a truck and the little squid doesn't have a lot of KO power it led to situations where he was living to like 200% while he could kill Inkling at 100% with his side b if he aimed at a platform. Also you can't jab him so you lose one of your best move. As much as I hate bury moves I absolutely abused side b as much as I could and if I couldn't land an edgeguard or a side b he lives for a long time. I was almost tempted to go Isabelle but I lost the first game and didn't want to risk it.

Also I noticed that I'm not hitting my upthrow to upairs as much. Seems online messed up my timing a bit but oh well. You guys are still playing?

A thing to remember against GnW is that his head is intangible during his upsmash so dont go charging in. His dair also has a landing hitbox that can take you by surprise.
