It's best not to dwell on it, and simply get on with trying to live a fulfilling life as this is likely the only form of existence we get to experience. What we think of as us - our thoughts, ideas, opinions and memories - are electrical connections in our brain. When we die that electrical activity will cease and what constituted us will cease to be.

I don't like the idea of no longer existing, but at the same time I did not in any way suffer during the billions of years before I was born.

The human brain can't really comprehend not existing, and equally it has difficulties with infinity so the idea of existing forever with no end to it is also kind of scary in a way. I guess we have to take one of them!

Tldr, make sure you make the most of this life!

Yeah, basically, I don't want to suffer. Although I don't like the idea of getting older either. Just becoming worse in every way, forever. Most old people I see are very weak and very sick. Rotting in both mind and body. I'd rather die before that happens, quality over quantity.

I really don't like the idea of people close to me dying though.

I love life, the good and bad. I would live forever if given the opportunity because I find joy in just experiencing every day shit nowadays, but I don't fear death. It's just one part of... everything. Not living is worse than death by a mile.

I fear the idea of not existing. Attempting to conceptualize that always freaks me out. If methods of indefinite longevity aren't a thing, I'm hoping that cryogenics will be a common and affordable thing by the time I'm about to die.

I have a healthy fear of the unknown, so, yeah, I fear death a bit.

No. I'm more concerned with dying without accomplishing anything. Fortunately for me I have been crossing things off my bucket list steadily for the last 15 years.

It's not so much that, the idea of non existence is an irrational fear. I do have good times though and I'm not really suffering greatly. That could change, but for now I'm okay with life.

i just wanna go out smug and i think i'll be fine. my parents always told me my mouth was going to get me killed, and i wouldn't mind fulfilling that prophecy. imagine being so right the other guy had to actually kill you.

I was born with DVT in my right leg and I feel like that is slowly creeping up on me no matter how much I combat it with surgeries.

And I dont believe in heaven at all so I know this is it.

17 years ago I had a phase for a few months where I feared death. I was in a deep depression and it began my anxiety issue which causes pains in my chest (it's just my muscles faking me out).

Once I realized it's inevitable and once dead you can't do anything about it I calmed down. When my dad died 4 years ago my anxiety went full force for a month and I had to go to the emergency room briefly to check my heart rate and have a blood test. It was all in my head.

I used to be. I guess I got over it.

Non-existence can't be that bad. Much better than eternal life which would get boring. There's just no point in thinking or worrying about it, when I die, I die, at least I will have gotten a shot at life.
