Dollar Generals not really a bargain store any more than Walmart is.

Dollar Tree is cool though. There are some things that you don't really need to get anywhere else.

No. Only time i go in there is when i need some quick batteries for something i know won't die quick (like a TV remote), or during the holidays or an event where i'm giving a gift and don't want to pay $8 for a bag or box from Target that the gift receiver is just going to throw away anyway. When it come to stuff like food and all that you aren't getting bargains. the per pound price is way more than most grocery stores and the majority of their meat is full of filler and water. you're getting a better deal overall at a regular store.

Well Dollar Tree everything is quite literally... $1.

Dollar General is more like your average convenience store. I like to get my spices and cleaning stuff from there.

I don't consider Aldi or Lidl bargain stores anymore than Costco. We primarily shop at Aldi cause the store brand items we get are generally on the same level as any overpriced name brand products. Also the produce is quality for cheap.

Even stuff like toiletries can be more depending...Like my local dollar store has single bars of soap for a dollar....the same brand i can get at target in like a 6 pack for $4. So in the moment yea you're paying 3 bucks more, but you're getting more soap for less. People think "oh its just a dollar that's the best value" but not necessarily for everything.

I usually go for stationary supplies. You can get packs of bic pens and reams of paper for a buck which isnt bad. That and 2 liters of faygo or some candles.

I go to Dollarama to get stuff for around my place like cleaning supplies and stuff like that.

It's also great for buying presents for young kids. You can spend $20 and get a bunch of stuff from the toy aisle and the kid thinks you went all out on them because they're not old enough to understand the value of things.
