If Palpatine is Rey's grandpa, who are her parents?

Also how did he survive being thrown down the hole in the death star?

Yeah, this makes the most sense since Disney kind of implied this was the case with Anakin too in a comic book.

Too bad they can't explain this shit in the actual films and expect you to read all the extra shit and play Fortnite to get it.

Kylo Ren through Palpatine made it very clear that the guy was son. There no reason to think otherwise. Anakin is a different story.

I think that he needed a physical form. Either his original body or a clone. The fall on Endor left his body intact and he's either been living in his continually deteriorating corpse since or just jumping from defective clone to defective clone a la Dark Empire.

Jedi can maintain their consciousness after death and return as force ghosts. Sith sort of can but they need to be attached to a host or a particular object like a wraith or a lich.

Since he was pretty much disintegrated and atomized I don't think he can come back again.

Though I get the sense that more happened to him in that sequence than getting zapped by his lightning.

No they didnt. Anakin is the Chosen One, created by the Force. The comic youre referring to is explicitly stated to be a nonliteral Force vision

The old EU had a story of him having a secret cloning facility where he did experiments with the intention of being able to jump into a cloned body if he ever died. He died before he managed to do it, and the facility was later found and destroyed.
Seeing that they have been "inspired" by the old EU in the past, I wouldnt be surprised if they did it again.
As for her parents, probably a random pair of nobodys that he used the Force to get pregnant. I wouldnt be surprised if they add that he did so with Anakin, Rey and some others with the intention to create bodies that were strong Force users that he could use as his own future bodies once his own died.

and it helps explains why rey is a "mary sue", she is the 2nd "chosen one" like anakin. created with the same way.

Given that in one of the Aftermath books Jakku is stated to be the site of "The Contingency" I would be shocked were this not the case.

Create a powerful force user and once the host body is grown enough have it sent to you.

Anakin was created by Palpatine, but again nothing says Rey was as well. In the EU, Palpatine's kid was from him and Sly Moore though invitro. Very likely the same here.
