Do you support jails releasing illegal immigrants accused of serious crimes? (domestic abuse, shootings, burglary, DWI, etc)

Sanctuary Cities are allowing illegal immigrants accused of more serious crimes to be released from jail without notifying ICE or holding them for deportation. How do you feel about that? Feel free to expound on your voting selection.

I need more context to answer this.

Granted ICE are bastards and I fully support them having less power.

It's not an issue of supporting the practice, it's more an issue of not seeing it as a solution when our prisons are already overcrowded with our own citizens.

Only accused, not convicted? Sure, release them.

Nope, that's far too dangerous, I don't approve of Sanctuary Cities either.

The context is that Sanctuary Cities are allowing known illegal aliens to be released from jail (if a judge allows bail) without informing ICE or holding them for deportation, knowing that they are in the country illegally. Some cities even have laws that would punish police officers if they inform ICE. Here's an example after a quick search: https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/suspect-accused-of-violent-crime-out-of-jail-due-to-287-g-ending/899191879/

It looks like this person is in the country illegally and was accused of shooting someone, but was released after the city ended what was known as a "278(g) program", which apparently kept inmates with ICE holds behind bars.

Cities are releasing known illegal immigrants back into society, even after committing more serious crimes.

Well the concept of bail should be done away with completely for serious crimes. Doesn't matter if it's an illegal immigrant or not.

This. ('-' )

We already have scum-tier US citizens doing serious crimes to other fellow Americans.

Now we have to fucking tolerate out-of-country strangers who flock here to do their bullshit and reward them by releasing them back out into the public?

What a brilliant idea.

If they're accused, but all of the non-circumstancial, irrefutable evidence adds up against them, then they should hold them until they get sentenced. Sanctuary cities are a joke.

I'm sort of surprised by the results so far. Not one person who most closely aligns themselves as a Democrat supports this, yet it's a typical practice across many major U.S. (democratic run) cities.

Maybe because the idea of releasing any serious criminal on bail is a bad idea.

It is happening but it's not limited to just illegal immigrants. It's basically giving illegals the same right as citizens. Which is a different issue all together.

They need to be charged and sentenced or let go.

It's unconstitutional to imprison people for extended periods of time w/o a trial just because they're undocumented.
