What am I stopping? I can't change the rules, I can't change the dispute system. My opinion is that changes to the rules and dispute system have been a good step forward, and anyone who has been on this site long enough would hopefully agree.

But for users taking issue with interpretations of rules or the workings of the system... I don't know what to say. I can't change them for you, and I can only be held accountable for my own actions and decisons. Even saying that, the people who take issue will still not feel satisfied with that answer.

If that was directed at me, I wasn't referring to ROD.

There's two users that have posted in this topic that have been moderated multiple times for doing exactly what I said in my other post, and "coincidentally" both are extremely anti-Mod and anti-ToU.

I think you're reading into it a whole lot more than it actually is. It's pretty simple. Post offensive shit, someone gets offended, they mark your post for moderation. If its someone being whiny because they just disagree with you then we ignore it. If it's an actual violation, we mod it. I've modded offensive posts that align with my own political opinions before because even if I agree with the person's opinion, they probably expressed it in a shitty way.

That being said, saying "All democrats are <offensive term>" or "All republicans are <abusive phrase>" are pretty much always going to be modded for abusive behavior. Because, believe it or not, both Dems and Rep users exist on this website.

80% of disputes I feel like can be summed up with that message which is one reason we switched in the first place.

In summary: if you have an opinion; don't be a jerk about it and some opinions are best kept to yourself.

Fair enough, I didn't think it was pointed directly at me, no worries. It's more a summation of the topic as it's gone so far. Some people are not happy, and will never be happy with the mod team or the system. I dunno what to tell them.

This is almost 200 messages of complaint from a handful of people who will never be happy, but refuse to either play by the rules as they are, or post elsewhere that meets their needs.

When those thoughts make it to text on this site, are marked by another user, and then reviewed by a moderator and deemed a violation, that's a different story.

To me the moderation system and the mod team are 99% perfect, I just think we should be allowed to discuss the occasional mistake that does happen. And Ive gotten positive responses ITT from the team, you included, so I think all in all this has been a step in the right direction despite the negative aspects of some of the posts ITT.

I have issues with the mods, but that's far from the only thing I talk about. Maybe it's the only thing you notice, but that's not my problem, it's yours.

You're not making good points, you're not offering meaningful input, you're not asking significant questions... When you type something up and press the post button, what is your goal?
