So. It's like a regular console, except...there's no physical console.

How is this an improvement? What possible advantage could this have, except, of course, taking up less space around your home, which is meaningless, because consoles aren't the same size as FRIDGES. Also, there will probably be problems with lag, internet connections breaking, etc. Plus, there don't seem to be any great first party games.

Explain this to me like I'm stupid (lulz).

You dont have that initial bar of actually buying the console. So your install base is fucking gigantic. It's like cell phones because nearly everyone is a potential customer instead of only people that bought the console.

In its current state I don't think it really serves a purpose but when the format is perfected I think there is an audience, such as:

People who travel a lot.
People who just want to play one specific game.

Technical issues aside, I think Google has made a mistake by pitching Stadia as a hardcore game's 4K dream, when their audience could well be people who don't want to buy brand new consoles next year.
