The 2007 was fucking great, anyone who thinks otherwise has a low IQ and eats cereal without milk.

I like the 2K series and the Nickelodeon series, but I always go back to the original.

Probably the comics that were going at the same time as the original cartoon. They were very similar visually but had way better stories and more characters. I also liked the cartoon, but it could be really cheesy at times and they weren't really allowed to show the turtles fighting that much

Yep, TMNT 2007.

1990 is the best TMNT media, but this is because of killer writing and directing. In the concept stage, 2007 is by far the coolest.

2007 was the best mashup of Turtles styles. The property is all over the place, ranging from edgy to fun and also from semi-grounded (as much so as the concept allows, lol) to "Monsters from Dimension X", and there's a little taste of all of it in 2007. Mikey is a riot, Raph is an edgelord, Donny is illogically smart, and Leo takes everything seriously to a fault. Splinter is sort of a combination of it all, which absolutely makes sense, and I loved the reversal on the story from 1990. Important roles being held by both Casey and Karai was much appreciated, and the Nightwatcher story was a perfect homage to one of the edgier Turtles stories.

Only complaint I can come up with is that there was no Shredder (except for a few mentions here and there). Guys like Bebop and Rocksteady, or Krang, or Baxter Stockman, etc, wouldn't have fit very well but Shredder (or even Rat King perhaps) could have worked. I liked how bold of a move it was, but he was still missed.

This. Out of all the TMNT media the original movie is the only one I'd enjoy revisiting as an adult. However...

Also in the original cartoon it's kind of funny that they can't show the turtles using their weapons to fight, but I distinctly remember one scene where Leonardo cuts open a pipe with his katana and just starts spraying the foot soldiers with raw sewage.

They even state that it is in fact raw sewage in case you were wondering

In UK, they cut away every scene with Mike using his nunchucks.

Nunchucks was banned at that time by James Ferman, chairman of the BBFC.
And BBC changed the word Ninja to Hero because they deemed the word to have excessively violent connotations for a children's program.
