Is your tank dirty? Have you clean it recently? He might barrel roll to knock bacteria off of him or scratch himself (not a fish expert). Also, what kind of fish it it?

It's alright to smile once in a while, you know. You should try it sometime!

Sometimes they can come back from it, sometimes they don't. Usually if the swim bladder fails and they start swimming upside down it's likely over.

A bit late, but glad to hear he's swimming normal again. Still don't be shocked if he goes belly up from trauma or internal bleeding in the next couple days. I think if you get til Sunday you are good.

This was red Devil. I have been having a lot trouble for the post few months.

I went left town for a few days and when I got back my tank was a swamp and all of my fish but this one I can't identify died. So I have been trying to build things back up. So I cycled and I got a red devil and some blue fish that name escapes me right now that the Fish store said can live with him an the the red devil killed him. And this is the devil that KOed himself .

And my turtle and fish tank just keep having fish die like crazy. And at first I assumed it was the turtle since that is what they do. But I took one of my fish out that was died looked him all over and he had no one mark on him. I check the water and it was perfect. I am just striking out as of late.

It happens in fish keeping. I lost a salt water tank after a couple years, didn't do anything different, readings were near perfect, and I lost like 7 fish in a week, $200 worth easily. It was very frustrating. It's unfortunately part of the hobby, I think i've had at least 15 tanks since I was a teenager and some of them I still have no idea why they crashed and burned. It's insanely difficult to master imo.

When I get a real job that pays. I want to get a huge tank and throw all my animals in. Like 300 gal. That would give everyone the same to live and play. Then I would just have to worry about one tank.

Largest I have owned was a 90 gallon. I had an albino Oscar and an adult Jack Dempsey in there, and a gold spotted pleco. I tried to have live plants in there but the Oscar uprooted them and then swam around the tank with the plant in his mouth like a trophy.

300 gallon is basically a large closet sized tank. You're going to need a little more than "a real job that pays" that kinda tank is going to need professionals to maintain it.

It's not as astronomical as you'd think. You can get a 300 gallon with a stand for about $800, need a couple canister filters and enough wattage to light and heat the tank. You figure $1500 starting cost, depending on fish which is a whole other bracket.

A local fish place by me in Atlanta would service your tank 4 times a month for $100 so that's not too bad. 300 gallons is manageable without a professional if you know what you are doing and have access to a shop and supplies for a reasonable price.

I mean it's not completely out of reach it's just a bigger investment in time and money than smaller tanks and the care of smaller tanks.

It's over a ton of water. You can't exactly just tip it and change the water.
