i think i agree with this and the only thing that makes me not rank it #1 personally is nostalgia for other games.

Bought it last week because the demo is amazing.

Haven't actually opened the box yet 'cause I haven't really played any games during the weekdays. >_>

This game marked the first (and so far only) platinum trophy that I felt compelled to obtain. It didn't hurt that it's an easy trophy.

Just finished, I'd give it a solid 9/10. I'm not going to do the post-game stuff. The game proper took me 70 hours to beat. It's a really good game!

FYI the "post-game stuff" is basically part 3, not your typical extra stuff.

some people will say to skip it anyway, but I say nay!

I can agree with this in part only because it kind of undoes Act 2, which is my favorite act. But like someone else says, you havent really beaten the game, or understood a lot of the hidden lore, if you don't do Act 3.

I think Act 3 straight up damages the game, but people should form their own opinions and it's pretty clearly intended as a "true ending" so I wouldn't tell anyone to skip it. Having played it though, I'll never be touching it on any replays.

The ending in act 2 is solid! Im happy with it. The game spoils act 3 and its a bummer that A) act 3 is spoiled and B) that they go in that direction.

Act 3 is the best part of the game the only people that don't like it are edgelords

Also yes you straight up haven't finished the game if you haven't played Act 3. There's so much plot that you miss if you don't.

For me I felt dissatisfied after the end of act 2 and it was actually act 3 that put it up to one of my favorite JRPG's of all time

i didn't beat act 3 because i was already 110+ hours in, and even though this is the funnest RPG i've ever played, that's still a lot of hours (more than i've ever put into almost any other single-player story, afaik, including xenoblade which i've only made it to 60 hours or so in) and the spark ran out.

i felt act 2 gave me a complete experience and act 3 was a bonus. i'm sure i'll finish it one day.
