My parents house was being rented out to a bunch of college kids, and the cops thought one of the tenants was the biggest drug dealer on campus, so they raided it and completely destroyed everything in the house. Like they took every single box of food/spices/protein powder/flour/etc. and dumped them down the sink, opened up every mattress, just trashed everything, and only found like $100 worth of weed and left. My parents got stuck with the bill.

If your landlord doesn't do proper upkeep on your property and you call the cops, nothing will happen. If you refuse to pay rent because of this, the cops will come and evict you for the landlord. If a corporation wants to run an oil pipeline through your land that will probably poison your water you can't stop them and neither will the cops, but of you protest the cops will sure as shit come and shoot you with rubber bullets, teargas you, and spray you down with firehouses in subzero temperatures. The criminal justice system is purposely set to protect the people at the top and their interests. Remember that the supreme court has decided that the cops are under no obligation to protect any individual.
