With Disney's library and it being $6 a month... Netflix is already struggling. How do you compete with Disney+?

Full frontal pornography starring the MCU actors.

They paid the GDP of a small nation for Seinfeld, they can make it happen.

Maybe theyll be bought out by a corporation like Comcast. That way if you have Comcast internet you wont have to worry about your Netflix connection being throttled.

Christ that is a terrifying precedent for streaming.

They need to figure out their business model. Being in the red can only keep going on for so long. Disney won't care if their ad free service is at a loss cause they profit in other areas. Netflix needs to figure something. YouTube and Amazon figured it out.

Lol why are we singling out Netflix. I am hoping more that those little piss ant streamers like Amazon, Hulu and CBS go down. Maybe this way Star Trek Discovery, The Boys and Picard end up on Netflix.

They've been profitable for over 5 years please look up what you're saying before throwing out some generic argument.

Id say Disney+ is probably a bigger threat to cable providers than Netflix. What are people going to ditch first to save on costs... a $12/month service or a $50-200/month service?

It's probably going to be a loss leader, at least to begin with. It's not like they can't afford to take the hit LOL

1) They probably wont profit at first, but the point is to get people subscribing.

2) They dont have to pay others for content, nor do as much for new content. They have a catalog already in place, and a system for making movies for theater release. After the theatrical release is over, Disney+ can then be used to keep the revenue stream going.

1) Disney doesn't have to pay for the rights to stream anything on their service. It's all their content.

2) At this point, who ISN'T going to be getting Disney+? You not only have Disney's own TV shows and movies, but you have Marvel, you have Star Wars and now you have access to all of Fox's properties as well. They can afford to keep the price low knowing that with the price being low, nearly everybody is going to buy in. And on top of that, the bundle for only $6 more includes Hulu and ESPN. That's the price of Netflix alone.

This

Disney pretty much just has to pay for server maintenance and UI updates

Anyway, Netflix will do just fine. Most people will keep it for all the non Disney shit and Netflix originals.

Netflix should be fine worldwide since it pretty much has a monopoly and will likely continue to do so. They create a lot of content in other countries that none of these other services really are. Plus a lot of the stuff being lost in the US will still remain in international versions.

It will be hurt more in the US because they're losing content from other studios because other studios are all taking their shit back for their own services.

Between Apple TV, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, Peacock (NBC Comcast), Amazon and CBS, streaming dollars are gonna be pretty split. Even then, Netflix is still a household name and will take a few more years to really see the decline.

Theyre pretty much guaranteed to always have more mature content. From my samplings of current media, I dont think Netflix has much to worry about really.

Yeah I mean there's a reason Netflix has been investing in so much Netflix original content. They've recently really leaned into children's programming because apparently families with kids are the most consistent steaming customers (apparently young adults are more likely to only pay for a streaming platform intermittently which seems weird to me and older single ppl are more likely to just have cable)

Anyway competition here seems fine to me, I know it's as unpopular opinion but I don't mind multiple services
