Moreover people of all age can love stuff. Movies is enjoyed by people of all ages. So why do people think that Star Wars can't be. Also TLJ was not for kids at all. It was a boring slow speed chase in space. Mos kids are not going to say wow did you see them fighting for fuel. Did her love the power dynamic between Poe and holdo. Next look was not the best Jedi in the world in no time flat. He was train by Obi-Wan and still had a lot to learn. So he went to get trained more by Yoda. WE don't know how long this lasted some suggest it took months. However even with that he was still BEAT by Vader when the fought. The Force does not dictate who wins, idea of that is dumb as hell. If that was the case then no one would ever need to train.
