match one is weird cause its two songs i kinda dont care about much from their respective soundtrack so its kinda hard to choose but not for good reasons. match two is a toss up. match three is so good i like crossing a lot but i LOVE venom whoever thought to inject STEEL NEEDLE with some kors k is a genius

While I have a preference for 21 Guns, I must say that Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time is a splendid Pokmon route theme in its own right. The background electronic instruments in Dawn slightly remind me of Super Monkey Ball 2. Decent match.

My feelings for both of the tracks in the second match are extremely neutral. I have a stronger distaste for the clich cinema sounds in The Beginning than I do for the stock music sad arpeggios in City of Tears, so CoT edges out the vote here.

Hey wait a second this isn't SSBM Venom There's too many crazy EDM things going on for me to really appreciate this more than I do. Crossing Route 3084 (Night) sounds like Aurora Memoria music.

MATCH 1

Kinda surprised that this is the alt song! I feel like this is a very beloved song by Pokemon fans in general. Though, I guess it might be that b8'ers in particular might not necessarily be a fan of this? I have no clue whether or not that's likely lol. Anyway, the first 44 seconds of this is so nice. Very dreamy and calming. The rest of the song is really nice too, but I think I like that beginning part a bit more.

Dawn is some pretty good trance music, but Route 216's more my thing.

MATCH 2

City of Tears is really pretty! Another very calming and relaxing song. I feel like this song shares some similarities with that League of Legends song that was the last one to appear before it was eliminated, but I find City of Tears to be a lot better. Don't know what it is. If I had to guess, I'd say the instrumentation is different enough in a way that appeals much more to my tastes than the League song.

I was hoping for more metal, but instead, The Beginning just gives me horror cinematic music, which isn't really something I'm too enthusiastic about. Interesting song, but not something that I particularly want to listen to.

MATCH 3

Venom's the type of banger rhythm game music that I can get into quite a bit. Not much to say about it, though. It's the usual fast-paced rhythm game music and it's pretty good at what it does.

Boy, today's songs are giving us a pretty chill listening session, huh? I don't mind at all, though. There's definitely plenty of room in my music tastes for chill music. I really like those first 14 seconds a lot. There's just something about it that's really appealing. The rest of the song's pretty similar so I like it too. It feels like the kind of music that would play while in some kind of technologically advanced society. That might very well be the kind of setting the Phantasy Star series takes place in, so I guess that makes sense haha. Pretty close, but I'm more in the mood for Crossing3084 right now.

route 216 is basically a pet song of mine and I'm glad it got acknowledgement but also it could've maaaybe been more than just the alt though y'know. but hey. it's here and that's cool. maybe even my favourite on the set(though it's definitely close)??? even though i'm not sure if it's even my favourite route theme because 228 exists

Pokmon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum - Route 216 (Night): 9. Christmassy jazz that starts out low-key and blossoms into something full of life. Very nice!

heheh dawn and dusk on the same day. City of Tears and The Beginning are both fairly middle of the road, but I think I like Beginning a bit better.

Venom's fucking great. Crossing is probably not a top 30 PSO song.

Pokmon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum - Route 216 (Night) - I always thought of this more as "winter" music, not "Christmas" music... granted, the terms are kind of interchangeable. Dawn is really good, but I guess its atmosphere doesn't quite match up to how adventurous Route 216 is to me.

Hollow Knight - City of Tears - hmmm...two completely different atmospheres, but both are great in that regard. I think I'll go with City of Tears since I generally prefer soft over loud, and it has more going on in terms of notes. Close call.

beatmania IIDX 24 SINOBUZ - Venom - hmmmmm.... I prefer the instrumentation of Venom, but I prefer the composition of Crossing3084... argghhhhhhhhh.....I guess I'm in more of a Venom mood today.

All close matches today. I don't like these days because chances are I would have voted something else if I had listened to the music several times over several days!
