Probably not. All the democratic candidates have gone so far left that they will only do well with young voters...

Yeah, and thats why Hilary is our President today. Because her centrist BS is just what this country isnt tired of.

Not like people who just want free stuff would know or care about that stuff anyway. At least not until mommy and daddy stop helping you out since their finances were effected. Guess we'll just work until we drop dead at that point.

Wtf you even talking about? I mean, I know its some brainwash crap but seriously plan your sentences and your message better.

There's 3 things that are important for retirement. Social security, pensions, and personal investments. Think of it like a 3 legged chair, if one leg breaks it can no longer support you.

I know dozens of people that are far from rich but dont have to rely on Social Security for their retirement. But since you seem to think so... youd think someone like a Bernie Sanders, that has promised to protect it, instead of some republican that will have to cut it to pay for the massive tax break they just gave the rich, would be more your style.

And hey, some folks at work, myself included, dont have to rely on a pension either. Shocker, I know. And that means 401k(and savings, stocks, etc.) is all we need. That means you can have a chair with just one support... which is funny because Id assume youre surrounded by said chairs after making these statements.

His chances of being impeached are basically 100% now.

Equally, his chance of being convicted are probably close to 0%. There's been rumblings that the GOP in the Senate might actually find their moral compass and vote to convict if it gets bad enough, but I'll believe hell freezing over first.

So basically, it's the same thing everyone has predicted all along.

I think the complete opposite. Actually... I know so.

He will NOT be impeached. GOP is too corrupt to impeach him.

BUT... the DA of NY is foaming at the mouth to get their hands on Trump.

Where it stands now... the best case scenario for Trump is to get re-elected. If so, and the senate stays in GOP control, he would have effectively gotten away with his crimes due to the SOL. Any deviation to what I just described is a problem for Trump. Especially if he doesnt get re-elected.

As of today, Giuliani has a significantly high chance of getting arrested. And *MAYBE* even Barr.

Looking at public opinion polls and how quickly theyre favoring removing him from office makes me think there is a real possibility the senate could follow through with it despite being majority conservative

Hes already nearing Nixon disapproval numbers when he resigned and this process is just starting for trump. There are already a ton of republicans retiring at the end of their terms they may very well be faced with the choice of holding trump accountable for his crimes or having their entire party sink with him.

Part of me just wants the bullshit to end, but I still hold by what I've said since 2016: I hope Trump isn't removed from office. The voters made this mess, the voters need to be the ones to clean it up.

Impeachment just gives Trump, and everyone who thinks like him, an excuse. "They couldn't beat us at the ballot box, so the Deep State got us instead. We'd still be winning today if it wasn't for them."

I think it's BS that the 5 year statute of limitations I keep seeing would have its "clock" continue to "tick" while he's president of the U.S. and effectively impossible to try in court.
This particular instance has never been tested in court (b/c...how crazy is it to have a criminal in the White House, using his job status to shield him from legal consequences?), but in similar situations where a criminal evaded detection/apprehension during the SOL phase, judges have ruled that time effectively "suspended" the "clock." I would hope the same would apply to Trump, though if it took till after his 2nd term to prosecute him, he wouldn't go to jail until like 90 years old, so it'd still be a hollow victory for the rule of law...

President Trump told two senior Russian officials in a 2017 Oval Office meeting that he was unconcerned about Moscows interference in the U.S. election because the United States did the same in other countries, an assertion that prompted alarmed White House officials to limit access to the remarks to an unusually small number of people, according to three former officials with knowledge of the matter.
The comments, which have not been previously reported, were part of a now-infamous meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak, in which Trump revealed highly classified information that exposed a source of intelligence on the Islamic State. He also said during the meeting that firing FBI Director James B. Comey the day before had relieved great pressure on him.
A memorandum summarizing the meeting was limited to all but a few officials with the highest security clearances in an attempt to keep the presidents comments from being disclosed publicly, according to the former officials, who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.

My new favorite thing is trump supporters calling non-supporters of our moronic president, idiots.

It's my constitutional right to call Donald Trump a moron.

Legal eagle points out the transcript even lays out a charge for violating the emoluments clause.

How stupid can he be to give so much evidence against himself? Did he actually think this helped him?

No, the House, which is controlled by the Dems and already has the required simply majority, is the one that impeaches. Once impeached, it goes to the Senate for the trial. THAT is where you are thinking it will die. And you're likely right.

But the impeachment portion is basically guaranteed at this point.

It's worth note that when impeaching, you can bring any and all charges rolled into one impeachment. What I mean by that is, while the Ukrainian call will certainly be the catalyst of the proceedings, you can bet Obstruction of Justice (especially the 10 instances in the Mueller report), numerous incidents of corruption and more will be brought up for a vote (since each separate charge must be voted on for impeachment).

I'd hedge your bets on it being a laundry list by the time it got to the Senate.Which will look even more damning if/when the GOP balks at it.
