Why is this heavily liberal site (look at the Politics board) so pessimistic about humanity's future? So many super accomplishments recently, if you ask them - Europe flooded by Asians and Africans, gender "rights" everywhere, US supreme court ruled in favour of "gay marriage", some Swedish student is supposedly making everyone fight "climate change", etc.

Could it be that deep down they are not so certain about whether these things are good for humanity?

Also, compare to 2 years ago. Optimism falls by ~2%, pessimism rises by ~3%.

No, it's the Nazis and the climate apocalypse, actually.

Hmm, that's not a bad point, actually. Unlike those at the top for whom it's just propaganda to rally the troops and nothing personnel, the average liberal probably literally believes those things exist.

Well yeah, it's more logical to eliminate a leaker after they leaked. It would be illogical to expect them to be mind readers and do it before.

Its even MORE logical that said staffer was killed by the people he leaked TO, not FROM. I mean, theyd had a more vested interest in keeping him quiet after theyd already gotten the information they wanted, right?

Or, and bear with me, but OR, its the MOST logical that this staffer was the victim of a robbery gone wrong, had nothing to do with ANYTHING, and his involvement in treason was a fabrication by the same people who cited their own report as the source of information behind the report itself.

Yes, this is not an impossible version. However, there was much more he could have leaked. So this is much less likely than the version that he was killed by those he leaked from.

lmfao, this is nonsense. Believing such sloppy cover-up is sad.

Anyway, let's not digress. :)

The tide may have turned in that there's actual resistance now that's gradually getting stronger, but they are still far from "losing the culture war," sadly.

But their puppet masters are losing more important wars, which is what will ultimately decide the culture war, too.

who are you asking that calls Europe flooded by Asians and Africans a super accomplishment or even a goal of any sort? Have you been talking to George Soros from a Ben Garrison cartoon?

also Greta Thrunberg (?) hasnt actually made anything significant happen as of yet as far as I know, so not sure she would reach anyones definition of super accomplishment either

Do you expect major changes in the structure of the world to complete within a single Trump term or something? Looks like you aren't very much into history. These things take decades, sometimes more.

Maybe people are pessimistic because of widespread alienation and a lack of upward mobility.

The pessimism is an unfortunate facet of our social media/24 news cycle dominated lives. Everything is so stupidly politicized that people don't realize that it is objectively the best time to be alive in almost every region on earth.

People concerned with the environment ignore all the positive environmental stories coming out, such as the evidence that the Ozone Layer hole is recovering. Use of clean energy is at the highest rate it has ever been, and is on a strong upward trend.

People concerned with the PC-ification of society don't seem to realize that outside of the internet, the people actually insane enough to be weird SJW obsessed morons is VERY low.

People complaining about white supremecy are in a similar boat, in that they're taking the Twitter accounts of insane racists as some sort of representation of society, when there has never been a better time to be a visible minority, or woman.

I'm trying to bring a little more positivty into my life, so I've been ignoring a lot of these things (less news watching, less Reddit, less Twitter, etc.), and it has been doing wonders for my outlook on the future.

That's accurate and not antagonistic. You're a cut above the rest.

That's pretty subjective. What's better, to waste your life away in a cubicle, achieving absolutely nothing, or to die in a war saving your comrades? Different people will answer differently. Just because you lived longer doesn't mean it was more meaningful.

Yup. It's really puzzling why such news that we can all agree are good are left largely ignored.

Yeah... I have had very strange experiences with shy and well-mannered people in real life that go bonkers on the internet. Because on the internet they frequent circles with other such people, and it's contagious.

Good! People who can achieve this (because it's not easy kicking a habit) have my respect.
