Does it? If I were the lead star (and also writer and director!) in a TV show that regularly got those ratings in terms of millions of viewers, I'd be making a lot more than that!

I think you are missing his point here. He isn't complaining about his high income. He explicitly says that. He is taking his service elsewhere because it's a better decision for him financially and he explains why in his responses. It would be like a millionaire football player going to another team because they pay more. It's just in your best interests. And much like football people villianize the actual content creators when the owners (YouTube corporate in this case) actively try to pay them as little as they can to maximize their own profit.

Guy is doing great, but that doesn't mean he has to let them take advantage of him.

as the lead actor you need to memorize lines and do extensive practice. as a youtuber you just need to read a script or think of something on the fly. this is much easier than acting. it's more like being a voice actor than a lead actor, and even then you don't need to do anything special with your voice. i can admit the effects they add to videos are usually high quality. maybe you can make a case about the production quality.

He talks about value but if anything he is overpaid because there are millions of other youtubers just like him who'd happily replace him. Hell, I don't even know who this guy is and my subscriptions are already flooded. There is too much content out there, this is basic supply and demand in action.

It's stupid that he brings up viewer numbers in the hundreds of thousands. Oh, you're providing so much value with people clicking your video randomly while they take a shit or whatever. How many are watching to completion? How many are blocking ads? With youtube being free and widely available to billions of people, those numbers aren't impressive in the grand scheme of things and certainly should not be compared to filling physical avenues.

there is no way on the planet that recording and editing weekly videos is more difficult than a desk job unless said job is literally brainless data entry

He makes some valid points and comparisons, and has definitely done his homework. And I say that as someone who really doesn't value YouTubers and considers them mostly disposable. I've never even heard of this guy. But clearly he's doing the numbers and the amount of revenue he's getting from ads and stuff does not add up.
