The final fight is extremely rushed, the plot concludes not really in a satisfying way but it does finish.

Make sure to read BURN THE WITCH as well.

It went 0-60 real quick. It was supposed to be about Ichigo killing hollows invading the real world but that went all to shit real quick. Basically they Shonen it up.

No, it's still worth reading. It was terrible when it was weekly and only 22% of a thing happened each chapter. Reading it all at once won't be so bad, and you can enjoy it.

I'd like to note that in 5 of the 6 final fights the villain has a variation of "the more you hit me the stronger I get" powers, and one of the protagonists has it too.

That only happens when people don't like your series and the ratings continue to fall. Happened right after Aizen was done for and he should've finished there instead of adding more crap. He knew it was going to happen but diddled around until his hand was forced. But he did have 3 chapters to finish which is true, but if you're an artist you know exactly what your ratings are and when your ratings do shit on Jump the axe is coming soon. Jump tries to help of course because they want to make money too, so they give you covers and better placement in Jump, when that doesn't happen. AXE BITCH.

Either write better or change it up, but you know it's coming. Toriko got the axe too, but at least they ended it gracefully. Bleach didn't.

Theres an article where he basically says during the final arc he lost all drive to continue and just started dragging everything out until one day he read a letter from a terminal fan who said he wants to see it finished before he passes. Thats when Kubo started having the plot move at a normal pace again the damage had been done however and his rating had already slipped and he was given 3 or 4 chapters to wrap it up.

My opinion on the Soul Society Arc

They went 720 on this one. How does a show about killing evil bad ghosts and spirits quickly spiral into having to fight God-like angel warriors? As a lot of people are saying, it was rushed. Also, introducing all those characters at once during the arc as not a good thing. I just got hooked to the main cast, why the fuck do I wanna give two shits about literally 13 captains and their lieutenants and other seeded trash?

And Soul Society doesn't make any god damn sense. At first Rukia made it sound like it IS heaven but when you actually get there there's such a thing as poverty and oppression and stupid shit like in the real world. Heaven/Soul Society is just like the real world.

Mind you the ranking data is primarily how the manga is placed in jump. If you're the first comic up, then you're first place in ratings. This is all done by the editor of jump. It USUALLY implies perceived value, you put what you think people will like more up front and the worse ones further in the back. But sometimes it can have no meaning at all. But it is an indicator. Sales is better.

I don't know what you mean by the final arc sales started to dip, it clearly was dipping well before that. The signs were all there, sales and ranking data doing poorly. He knew it and his editors I'm sure were telling him all about it constantly.

This sales data matches what I'm saying, sales hit their lowest point during 2011, when the final arc started with a slight increase near the end of its life when he started moving the plot at a reasonable pace.

One thing I don't understand is WTF is Aizen talking about.

He says there are limits to how strong Shinigames and Hollows can get. He made is sound like most of the captains are already at their limit and they can't get any stronger and the only way for them to get stronger is to be hollowfied. That's where that stupid little gem hyokyo or whatever the fuck you spell it comes to play.

But like... it seems this is complete false and everyone can get stronger as long as they train like I'm confused as fuck.

This. Bleach started ranking at the bottom of the popularity polls in Jump towards the end of Aizen/Fullbring. Sales and popularity were tanking for years.

The ending was trash, but most of Bleach was trash, in a good way though. I refuse to believe that Kubo was taking his story that seriously. Ichigos final Bankai getting destroyed immediately, in a two-page spread 90% identical to the page before it, after a three year build-up is funnier than most comedy is on purpose. I think I legitimately started enjoying Bleach the most when I viewed it as a shonen parody.
