It is also the only state in the poll with less than a third vote in favor of "Squish it", as almost every other state has at least 40-50% or greater.

Do spider lives matter? Should spiders should be viewed as equal to humans? Should statues be erected in honor of our fallen spider sistren and brethren?

The spider rights movement may be on the horizon. And it starts in Alabama!

Spiders freak me out but squashing them is gross. I am a wimp and have my husband to do it.

Something harmless like a wolf spider gets chased away to it's nearest hiding spot. Something like the occasional black widow gets squished. Daffy long legs usually get squished too. Not because they're dangerous, but because they insist on making their webs in the corners of the ceiling.

I am lazily humane. If I find a spider downstairs I will take it outside. But if I find one upstairs (and thus farther away from the doors to the outside,) I squash and flush.

I look down on sissies who kill spiders. They're fascinating, kill other pests, and and most types are harmless. I actually have a pet tarantula that my gf named twinkletoes because of her pink feet

Every single one I find gets nuked with Raid.

I attempt to free spiders so that they don't end up crawling into my bed while I'm asleep.

Every small creature that makes it into my living space has a different reason to be spared. Lizards and geckos get freed because I don't want to accidentally sit on them.

Spiders don't know that they mostly get a pass because I am a VENOM fan. Also, most spiders have some nice designs on their abdomen.

I'm not a fan of unnecessary destruction of life, that even extends to my behavior in video games. Needless to say, spiders get a pass too.
I'll usually just let them be so long as they tend to stick to one area. If they become troublesome, I'll gently evict them.

By that logic, I should really be a fan of Squirrel girl. Back when my family had a dog, I was the one complaining that it would scare (or kill) all the squirrels. Now the dog is gone, and we still have few squirrels running around.

I try to move any spiders I find indoors to the outside.

Spiders are legit the best housemates. They're quiet, they keep to out-of-the-way areas, they don't damage the house like ants or termites, don't get into the food like various other bugs, their webs are easily cleaned up, and they kill and eat things you don't want in your house.

If I find a big one inside I'll relocate it outside, but only because there's not much for them to eat in my place. The smaller ones get to stay.

Word for word, exactly how I feel, including the spill over into games.
Also, as mentioned earlier, the more spiders you kill, the more everything else that they keep down.
Less spiders means more West Nile Virus, Zika and EEE, where I live.

Because those are common

Black widows are somewhat commonly found in people's garages but even then they're not an aggressive species

Luckily, the only times I've seen them is at work at the bus station... Only 3, though...

And they are much bigger than I thought. I thought they were like teeny and I could easily miss them. But they're pretty big. The ones I saw, at least...
