Usually new characters make you ugh and they're always the worst, they're always like the jumpy shark moment or that guy from the brady bunch. But sometimes a show adds a new character and they literally become a fan favorite or a dark horse.

Parks and Rec is almost unique in how it removed that one character and then added Chris and Ben, and they coincided with the show being the amazing show everyone remembers it to be. And Ben is really amazing, to think there were 2 seasons before him is almost impossible to believe.
