jpenny2 09/01/19 9:14:18 PM #1:	I feel like a contrarian for thinking it was hugely overrated. It's definitely not a bad movie, but it felt like a rushed retelling of the childhood half of the novel. Mike, for instance, plays such a small role in the film that they may as well have not included him. And the sound... The music and sound effects are so loud and over-the-top top that they almost seemed like a parody of a horror movie at times. I honestly feel like the movie would be greatly improved simply by putting in music and sound effects that were much more subtle. Not sure what they were thinking with that. Overall, I didn't have an issue with the visuals.
