You never really know what you're going to get from Steiner any given year. Even discounting his victory and the unusual circumstances, he's popped up pretty much everywhere in the standings. He drops from 51.12% to 49.78%, down one spot to 48th. His newSTATS fall a fair bit more, from 64.88% to 60.61%, down six spots to 28th.

We have 19 users who've had the touch of death across 24 of the 35 rounds so far (excluding the 10 FoG rounds and the Hildibrand elimination where nobody saved him.)

Inviso jumped out to the early commanding lead with with the Round 1-2 punch of Fran and Hope. Maniac64 joined him in the lead at the last round before FoG where we took a break before resuming. captaincanadian has since jumped to the unfortunate lead, meaning the two Barret backers are 1-2 in the Touch of Death stats, which I guess is either a really bad sign or maybe a good sign (they're all deathed-out!)

In the ratio of death saves as a percent of total saves, Wicklebee had been in the lead with 2.9% of his saves having the "touch of death"; but as of the most recent round, junk_funk had the misfortune of backing the wrong character at the wrong time. With 10 total saves in the contest to date he now leads the way at a 10.0% death percentage.

I don't believe any "touches" yet have been a result of trades so guess I'd need to account for that at some point when that happens, credit going to the user who sought the trade rather than the one who saved via trade. Also imagine this whole thing will become unfeasible at some point so we'll see how long I bother...!

took a bit of time since I kinda wanted to screencap the update process if you were interested in seeing

explanation:

1) Run the scanning script with round + topic info
2) Filter down the posts in the topic confirming valid saves down the list by marking with '1', and adding missed script readings from posts if needed (maybe once or twice if at all, often not). Far right number is count of saves for that character so I can immediately notice if they were already safe, thus skip over and not '1' it.
3) Re-sort the sheet by the save data, to copy/paste 'datalines' to my double-checking and data-converting sheet
4) Double-check that the saves recorded do indeed lead to the expected result (plus some other checks from other tabs)
5) The final output data to copy/paste into the sql database

Thanks for sharing the process, though I'm stuck on the "Save my Smash Bro II" tab. Bot contest!!!! I took a course on SQL and wish I cared more or paid more attention to it, certainly seems like a handy skill, there's plenty of data out there I'd like to scrape for analysis purposes.

How did you get the script to not flag lefty's update posts as a false positive save? Because it starts with the word "unsafe" it's disregarded?

lmao SMSB2 yeah that's in the dillos private board testing out the new hosting script... I have yet to finish a round to complete the "test" of the new script but I'm lazy. Every now and then I throw in a new save, and it's where I ask bot to make graphs for me without using up B8's Dillos topic
