I have a Fire TV Stick hooked up in my living room, but the live TV keeps giving me the wrong channels because Amazon's geolocation sucks. I contacted customer service via chat and explained the issue. I told the guy it would take me a minute (they are kind of slow). When I came back to the chat after making the requested changes, the guy had vanished without warning. The new guy I who joined the chat in his place took 5 or so minutes between replies, always without warning.

Our conversation went like this:
Me: An Amazon channel and Hulu can't find my location when I use the Fire Stick. It works on my computer but doesn't work over the Fire Stick.

CS: So it isn't a Fire Stick or Amazon issue.

Me: It happens to an Amazon channel too (and on no other device) so it is Fire Stick issue.

CS: Give me your address.

Me: *gives address and zip code*

CS: Customer, you just told me you lived somewhere else that wasn't the address you gave me.

Me: No I didn't.

I got out of the chat shortly after that because the guy was completely unhelpful. I've never been accused of lying by customer service before, especially not over chat where both parties can see everything that has been said. Wtf?

I asked blizzard customer service for free shit and they gave me a bunch of heroes of the storm Loot boxes, hearthstone boosters, and 3 days of wow sub just like that

Antifar had made one major error though. He'd ignored the sign that had cautioned him about cruelbuffalos wearing turbams. There was a key in between them.

I've had good interactions with their customer service. However I did run into one stupid thing about their payment system. I wanted to split a payment with my debit card and their own credit card. It wouldn't let me and I had to escalate through like 5 people before some manager person finally told me I couldn't do that and would have to purchase gift cards and add them to my account if I wanted to split a payment using their credit card

They'll be fine at correcting any retail problems but if you need help with tech you'll be sol. they aren't trained on that stuff.

To be fair I think Amazon's "amazing customer service" just boils down to the fact that they'll typically replace lost packages no questions asked and this is still the case or at least it was 6 months ago. I wouldn't really call that customer service though

I'm satisfied with their service. It's actually one of the better ones. I've had my Prime extended on one or two occasions and given $5 credit for a simple delivery being late. The refunds and extra compensation money have been great.

Ok but I've never seen an option to do that anywhere online. Maybe you should be able to but it isn't the same type of payment system as a check out line.

The Amazon credo is customer obsession which creates a culture of fear if you don't know the answer. They don't want to give you misinformation but they can't say they don't know. Given that most of the CS team is poor Indians they don't necessarily understand systems and tech.

You can split payments using your own debit cards, you just can't split a payment at all if you use the Amazon store card. It's stupid.

Your second paragraph is spot on though. As soon as I got an American who spoke English I got the information I needed

I've always had good experiences with them. If I had a problem with something they would send me a replacement free of charge. One time I bought a game and found out it wouldn't arrive until like 2 weeks after the release, so I bought the game on the PSN store and they let me send the game back when it came for a full refund.

Now netmarble and Baitian Technology...THEY have absolutely shitty customer service. Neither companies would give me a refund when their games fucked up. With netmarble their game glitched out and became permanently unplayable, and with BT they charged me THREE times for something I only bought once (the thing said "Connection time out, please try again"), and they still refused to refund me. I had to go through the Apple Store to get a refund.

I was so disgusted that I closed the window without thinking about making a copy. Actually, I did think about it briefly, but the experience was with both customer service representatives I figured nobody would care anyway.

Some Chinese company keeps sending me random Chinese junks so that they can get a verified buyer review. I thought it was a scam and my account had been compromised, but I guess they use gift cards to pay, so Amazon can't do anything about it since they get a sale and don't have a process to stop a shipment from going out to an address after it's been paid for. CS just tells me to keep the items, donate them or throw them away. So far I've gotten beauty cream, a dash cam, wireless earbuds, 2 phone cases, an Ipad case, all trashed.
