Current Events > What Tales games are easiest for me to get my hands on?

I've played Phantasia, Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia, DotNW, Zestiria, and Berseria, I'm currently playing Xillia, and I've got Xillia 2 and Graces F lined up. What are my options?

Got a vita? Hearts R. If not? Uh... That's about it, everything else would require older consoles, maybe even foreign ones. Oh, or playing through means that are unable to be discussed here because TOS.

No Vita, but I do have a PS2. I know a couple games were on it and the PS1.

Tbh, you'd need a playstation maybe? I know there were 2 tales games for it...I forget their names but one was a sequel. There's Legendia for the PS2..

Are the PS1/2 Tales particularly expensive?

You can buy Legendia on Amazon for around $30. Destiny and Eternia(Destiny II) will be much harder to find at a fair price. Etenia is going for over $400 on Amazon. I would check any local retro game stores in your area first.

As some others have said TC, the easiest and least expensive localized Tales games you can get are....

Legendia
Radiant Mythology(Not really worth it these days IMO)
Hearts R(For now, have a feeling it will be worth as much as the most expensive classic Tales games eventually if not ported or remade within a decade or two)

If you're willing to spend more and get lucky online you can get these other two USED for a pretty penny(New, sealed prices are insane so you shouldn't even bother)....

Destiny PS1
Destiny 2 / Eternia

I think you've played a really good amount of the localized games though, so I'd recommend you just getting Legendia and Hearts R if you're not willing to play some of the unlocalized games, until Arise comes out. If you are willing get Destiny PS2, Destiny 2(The REAL Destiny 2, not Eternia), Rebirth, Phantasia X / Narikiri Dungeon X, Innocence R, and Radiant Mythology 3.

Maybe one of the tales of the world crossover ones for psp. And hearts r. Besides that, the PS3 and PS4 ones are all on PSN but you have them already so.

There are 2 tales on ds that have 100% translation patch. Pretty sure you'd need a modded original hardware for that. Eternia has been released on psp afaik, might wanna check psn if you've got psp / vita.

Tempest isn't even worth acknowledging. And innocence has a vita enhanced version.

And the eternia psp version would be on jp psn.

Fair warning, the story gets pretty damn dark compared to the first one. Especially if you go for the bad ending.

I genuinely think you'll love ToX2. It expands on a lot from X1, and the new characters are all super fun.

A lot disliked the Xillias, but I really liked X1, and loved X2.

Xillia 2 nerfed Jude because he was OP with some of his moves giving i-frames and easy combos.

But Ludger is effing OP from the moment he has his third weapon so like, after the first or second boss aka 2 hours in. :l

I think 15 or something

Not sure if you want spoilers, so I'll mark them

The MC is OP for the following reasons

- He can hit every weakness
- The Sledgehammer is amazing at breaking Guards and opening people
- Later on in the game, you receive a skill that after you guard for a few seconds, your next attack
a. Breaks/ ignore guard
b. Acts as if you are attacking a weakness
c. Begins the weakness combo counter, which depending on difficulty, can reach 300% - 1000%
- 2nd fastest in the game, especially when linked to Jude
- Best Link Artes, probably the best access to Petrification (the best status effect vs bosses)
- Easiest to use, despite being the Tales equivalent of DMC Dante

And that's only in normal form.Later in the story you unlock a transformation (Basically Devil Trigger) and in this mode...

- You are technically invincible ( although getting hit shortens the time you can use it)
- Most attacks in this form are very powerful in their own right
- The biggest reason...with the right combo, he can perform a VERY EASY infinite until the DT wears off (so about 45+ seconds). Combine this aspect for chaining a full weakness combo > Devil Trigger > Infinite > Mystic Arte to finish is enough to strip 80% off a bosses health if not outright kill them
- Devil Trigger has 4 levels and increases time in said form and power.

His only weakness is multiple characters at a time

I haven't played berseria yet but I know that's gonna happen given its relation to zestiria.

xillia 2 isn't a very good game by any metric. but it does have great combat and was certainly better than 1
