ParanoidObsessive 07/28/19 10:10:05 AM #3:	I'm not a huge fan of remakes that redo mechanics and aesthetics of their original versions, and I'm still not entirely cool with the idea of them redoing the voice acting, but even I will admit that the remake is pretty good in terms of modern gaming standards. By the end of the game I was basically playing sort of curled into a fetal ball on the couch with every single light in the apartment on, every door deliberately left open, and the chain locking the front door. It amped up my innate paranoia and feeling of unease in ways no game since has ever managed, other than (maybe) the first couple Fatal Frame games and Clock Tower (but RE was definitely the first game to ever really evoke that sort of reaction). Probably later on, as well...~~ There are areas, where you know you're going to be coming back to that area often, that it's ok to go for head shots to try and get that lucky crit then when you come back to that area the zombies are already dead. You know that hallway where there's a zombie trying to get in the snack machine and one zombie lying on the floor? Right there you want to kill both of those zombies and then board up the window down the hall. Thus making it real easy to think the Licker is going to attack you. not gonna lie, I thought that meant it was going to attack and only after I read about it I knew that while it can hear you, it doesn't attack at that point. On my first playthrough of the original I got to the final boss with one box of bullets and the knife. Needless to say, I had to restart the game. But I was a lot smarter by then. And I went on to beat the game hundreds of times. I just cant decide which Hunk was more difficult.
