I guess you don't need to talk to everyone, but I have so far. Also, you can spend your day doing things like fishing, going to eat and farming. Like when you have a day off you can do 3 things around the School to build friendship or skill sets As a person that has mostly just hit the "Start" button on the series and skipped all the story stuff just to play the maps it's a bit slow for me, but in a good way.
