I just finished the arc where Goku fights Babas group to bring back that kids dad, who was killed by the Red Ribbons mercenary.

The show got really dark after the Commander Blue arc. Im really enjoying it.

I guess from here theres going to be a 3 year time skip to the next martial arts tournament. So well be seeing Goku and Krillon as young teens, and Yamcha and Bulma as young adults. That sounds like a good time!

I tend to like the sagas where Goku is exploring the world (esp with Bulma) looking for the balls over the tournament/training episodes, but itll be good to see if Goku will win this time around. Roshi could barely bear him last time :u

Talk DB with me.

It was definitely better early one. The later episodes not so much. Same with DBZ, which should have ended with Frieza

aww.... you made me nostalgic for the original Dragon Ball. That show was from an era with good pacing.

The finale, while tame by modern Dragon Ball standards, is much more... umm... dramatic tension, I guess?

So far, post-RR arc > pre-RR arc >>>> Red Ribbon arc

The early episodes were fun, but Ive enjoyed the ones since Reds defeat more. The young boy losing his father to Tao was something I did not see coming, since the show had avoided death up to that point. And Goku seeing his grandfather again and crying was not a moment of emotion I was ready for this show to throw at me.

Wikipedia says theres only 3 sagas left.... but more than half the episodes. Must be some finale!

You haven't hit the real first timeskip yet. That's still a ways to go.
The Pilaf Saga is arguably the best saga in all of Dragon Ball (and all of the other series of course) but you still have 1 good arc left in the King Piccolo saga.

I wasn't a big fan of RR. It dragged on for way too long.

RR was the worst part of it, no doubt.

He was the first villain to seem like a real threat.

Goku is a red white and blue Mary Sue though lol

Piccolo Jr. fight is my personal favorite fight in the orginal Dragon Ball.
Also liked how even Krillin was able to make him sweat
