Because my sister doesnt do anything with it like bathe it so it's covered in ticks, and because it harasses my old cat who already has nowhere to be but the second floor by my room since the whole rest of the house is basically nursery zone.

Why do people get a dog only to abandon it outside? Unless its for like a specific reason, like a herd dog, I just dont get the point.

Poor thing is covered in ticks because hes neglected. Instead of blaming the dog, you can try stepping up and caring for it if no one else in your home will.

Having an outdoor dog just means you're way more lazy than you are compassionate.

That dogs not chained up anywhere but the thing about having an unleashed dog is that it goes and fucks with other properties. We used to get a bunch of unleashed dogs coming around here

These are the same people who are too incompetent to teach the toddler not to hit the cat and shit so the cat already only hangs out in the second floor hallway area and my room, I'm not letting that become just my room.

You just assumed it would only take a day and is still too lazy and undisciplined to take that day lol. "I can't spend a day of scaring my cat to make it feel safe for the foreseeable future". Your priorities aren't right. Again, you'd really fuck up a kid by being to weak to properly teach it lessons. "He's sad for 2 minutes when he doesn't get candy so I have to give him candy"

Really matters how attentive of an owner you are too. I had to train my dog to be good, so I could take him places, so I would feel good about myself and worthy of owning a dog. Now when I go to the cabin I can have him with no leash but I still have to be attentive cause he'll take any chance to wonder off. It weighs down my time there but he deserves more than just sitting at home alone while I enjoy nature without him. Plus I get something out of seeing him have a good time.

I'm originally from a semi-rural area. I went to college in a semi-rural area. I still have family in semi-rural areas.

The vast majority of dogs were still mostly indoor dogs, and people that kept their dogs outside the vast majority of the time were uniformly considered trash and shitty dog owners. The only exception really being farmers that had barn dogs, but those still had pretty good setups for them.
